Would come again in the summer. Would be nice to sit out and enjoy a few drinks relaxing on the terraceto sit out
Pros:

Good location.
Room was big.
Staff were very friendly and professional.
We ate in the bar which was gin e and the fire was roaring.
The bar man was a lovely character, very warm and inviting.
He told us about the place being haunted and directed us to reception to get a printout if the history of the place.
All staff were lovely and made us feel really welcome. Breakfast manager lady and staff were really pleasant.
We used the spa which was really good and staff there were lovely too.

Cons:

Room was a little cold … radiator was on max but still felt a bit cold. Our room just looked out onto a kitchen roof and a wall which wasnt great but I suppose we could’ve upgraded. Only here one night so wasn’t that important on this particular stay

Wouldn't stay here again. Paid for delux and got the equivalent of a bad BnB.
Pros:

The lunch and evening meal were enjoyable. The waiting on staff were lovely

Cons:

The receptionist on arrival was quite abrupt and not friendly. The room was not up to standard, it looked tatty and nothing like the photograph. The breakfast meat was cheap and tasteless, the eggs royale was cold and the muffin was stale. The spa didn't feel clean.

The staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was incredible-it was on the pricey side but the quality spoke for it
Pros:

Beautiful property, full of character, but with modern touches.
The room was clean and comfortable.
The pool and spa were gorgeous.
We can’t wait to return in the summer and have a nice walk around the gardens

Pros:

The staff were excellent. Great food, gym facilities. Car parking and comfortable bed.

Cons:

The safe didn't work, the towel rail nor the extractor fan didn't work. The main lights were intermittent. The sound on the tv was set very low, so if you're hard of hearing , like I am it was no point having it on. The whole place looked a little tired and knocked about.

Overall a lovely stay but needs improvement
Pros:

The room upgrade we liked and the treatments in the spa.

Cons:

Paid for superior and was given a garden view we were upgraded to a master suite. The events manager at burns night had no care for the staff under her and was rude to other guests at our table. Room noisy from above could hear everything. Also rooms could do with some thought.

Very very poor management. Poor facilities.
Pros:

I hate this place with passion. Right from the reception, down to the room. Dirty room, management team rubbish, TV not working in the room, staff not friendly, you speaking to them and keep asking you what what acting like they can hear or understand you. I will never visit the place ever again.

Cons:

Nothing

Been here twice, will come back again
Pros:

Staff were brilliant, the food and drinks were excellent and the hotel has a lovely luxury feel to it.

Cons:

Only thing I'd say is it would be nice for spa robes to be included when you're paying a fair bit of money to stay at a spa hotel.

Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish
Pros:

The grounds and gardens are nice and the bar staff were polite and courteous.

Cons:

My recent stay at Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa was bad. The moment I arrived, I was met with a frosty welcome that set the tone for the rest of my stay. Things only got worse from there.

During my stay, the hotel experienced a power cut, and I was shocked that the staff didn't follow any safety protocols to ensure guest safety. This was concerning, to say the least.

But the biggest issue was with my dietary requirements. I had specifically booked a gluten-free option and was assured that this would be catered for. However, during breakfast, I was served brioche bread, which is clearly not gluten-free. When I asked the waiter to double-check, they confidently assured me it was gluten-free, which was not only incorrect but also potentially hazardous for someone with a gluten intolerance. Staff knowledge and training is clearly lacking.

Overall, my experience was very poor, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The lack of attention to detail, safety protocols, and poor communication made for an uncomfortable stay. Your reception team should learn how to be hospitable and to speak to customers with respect.
