A restorative oasis of calm.
Pros:

We have stayed here many times. There are a few spa hotels around Chester, but we always return to this one. The building is very unusual and it makes for interesting shapes in the bedrooms. Very few of them are the same.
It's proximity to one of Chester's Park and Ride facilites makes it's location brilliant for getting into the city without worrying about parking.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The facilites are wonderful and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The bedrooms are really quiet and the beds are amongst the most comfortable (both mattress and pillows) we have experienced.
We ate in the bar area from both the bar and restaurant menus and the food is very wide-ranging (all 5 of us had different dishes) and always of excellent quality.
We did not take breakfast this time.

Cons:

The cost of the food is slightly high for the area and the portion size.
The views out of all three of our rooms were not desirable even though the rooms themselves were lovely. The shower controls is one were a bit challenging!

Staff were amazing yet room really wasn’t what i expected from the pictures of the room and disappointed with the spa
Pros:

The staff was very friendly and helpful

Cons:

The bedroom I booked I had a lot higher expectations from the photos I saw on the booking and the jacuzzi and pool was freezing cold really didn’t feel worth the money I spent

Pros:

The hotel is beautiful and old. There is no air con or lifts so it retains it's character as an old building. Still has original sash windows. Rooms nice and comfy. Spa area was really nice. Staff were very helpful and informative even though they were busy as there was a big wedding on at the time. Would definitely be back. Akso have beautiful gardens 😍

Close to Cheshire oaks but for a hotel and spa, it was dissapointing
Pros:

The hotel was close to the location we had been too.

Cons:

When we arrived we were told that the restaurant and bar were not serving food, however there was a BBQ on u til 8pm, had we arrived later then we would not have been able to eat at the hotel, also the rooms were hot as no air conditioning and the curtains allowed all the light in In The morning( maybe black out blinds should be fitted)

Pros:

Stayed for the weekend as a treat for Boyfriend for his birthday. The hotel was beautiful, in stunning grounds to fall lucky with the weather. Although I had booked the whole spa package we was not allocated robes or slippers 😒 and the fact that we had a double room which I fact was 2 single beds pushed together so either one of us always fell in the gap.

Cons:

The room not having robes and slippers for the spa and the fact that we had a double room which consisted of 2 single beds being pushed together. No good if you want to cuddle up.

Ok
Pros:

The outdoor is nice. The place is quiet and only nature sound. Pool and spa nice.

Cons:

I had requested to have a happy birthday message displayed in the room and was told my request was granted only to get there and find nothing. No fridge in the room. Breakfast took too long to be prepared. It’s a nightmare to flush the toilet. No lift.

Great experience 1 little downfall
Pros:

Surrounding area, beautiful garden walk.
Excellent relaxing facilities, spa and pool.
Big eaters, can be worth the breakfast, over sized potions.
Vintage decor.

Cons:

Locked outside.
Struggling with sleep issues I can be up all times of the night and can be heavy smoker go outside a few times through the night.
Doors locked at 11 and you are required to ring a number. From half midnight, took over 45 minutes and 7 calls and a voice mail left to the number left on the door before I gained access back in to the building
