Nice spa break.
Pros:

The staff are brilliant, John at reception was super helpful & made us feel really welcome. The spa was great, lovely size pool, jacuzzi, steam room & sauna.
The gardens were well looked after but could do with some signage. The deluxe double/twin room was spacious & the beds were very comfortable. The food was ok.

Cons:

I don't think if you have paid for bed & breakfast that you then have to pay a supplement cost to have what I would think is a standard 'full english'. The restaurant menu is quite an odd mixture of meals, also the website suggests you can order sandwiches to your room 24 hours, this is not the case, sandwich service stops at 5pm.

Very disappointed, not a quiet relaxing weekend at all.
Pros:

The property itself is full of character, the communal areas are good decorated well and clean, loads of seating in the bar and other areas.

Cons:

The bedrooms are awful, tired no decorated to a good standard, mismatched furniture, and the handy work carried out on repairs look like a 10 year old carried out the work, I understand wonky and uneven floors in an old property, but the bed at the foot end was at least two inches above the head, the bed might have been positioned better in the room, the mattress was firm and extremely uncomfortable. Wedding party was on, music load until 12 o clock, we were not forewarned, we would not have booked had we known.

Lovely location nice hotel . Unfortunately the room was a bit disappointing due to the noises going on late into the nig
Pros:

Location, was only quick uber ride into the city centre . And there a nice couple of pubs near by that do lovely food .

Cons:

When we arrived we got checked in and taken to our room , the room we were shown was beautiful. An hour into our stay I had a one for the staff member come find me at the bar and said that someone from reception needed to speak to me . When I got there they then told me they had given us the wrong room and we needed to move , sent their apologies and said they were going to upgrade us from the original booking . When we arrived at the room unfortunately as lovely as the room was met with constant noise from the outside. Bagging and clattering going on. Wheeled bins being dragged around glass bottles being emptied into another bin .I believe the location of the room must of been at the back of the kitchens and where all the rubbish must be kept . Unfortunately this meant it was a lack in sleep.

Pros:

Lovely hotel. A great location for visiting Chester. Nice room and spa tasty food.

Cons:

We had a problem with our room. It was a very hot day, 32 degrees outside. Our towell rail in the bathroom would not turn off. Consequently we had a very poor night's sleep with the heat. We had 2 fans in the room and windows wide open but did nothing ro help. We complained when we were given the room and were told all rooms were the same, so we didn't ask to change room. However our son, who had another room did not have the same issue. We complained again to reception but all the lady said was she would tell maintenance.

Lovely hotel/spa but you pay the price for the full experience.
Pros:

Beautiful, vast grounds. The hotel itself has a perfect mix of a modern feel to a traditional setting. The spa facilities were great, although we didn’t get any treatments as it was out of our budget. The location was convenient as it was only a 10 minute taxi into the gorgeous Chester.

Cons:

The room we stayed in, despite being perfectly clean and comfortable, was slightly underwhelming as it was small and didn’t look like the photos, however the bathroom was gorgeous (albeit possibly larger in size than the bedroom itself!).

Mixed feelings enjoyed some parts but let down by other parts
Pros:

Liked room access directly to garden through patio door. Breakfast was very good so was the waiting staff.

Cons:

Internet access very poor did report to reception was told that some one would come to look but no one did.
Last night of stay the hotel hosted a Prom event with party guests sitting outside my patio door had to pull the curtains as I felt uncomfortable. The cleaning of the room was a poor almost as if done in a rush
