A bit pricey for some, but a destination stay for sure!
Pros:

Loved pretty much everything! The food and bar were terrific, as were the staff! The decor is next-level! Cozy and charming don't even really begin to describe this place!

Cons:

Kind of a nitpick really, but the gym area was kind of sparse, but wasn't a deal breaker for me. I would recommend just adding more "zen" decor and lighting to go along with the massage table and treadmill.

Our room was absolutely stunning. We had this gorgeous canopy king bed in front of a fireplace with a soaking tub with a wall of candles behind it. They made us feel like royalty and the happy hour and breakfast were phenomenal.

Cons:

It is literally on a Main Street in Clayton so you can hear motorcycles or large trucks driving by. They do provide a sound machine in your room and that will definitely help..

Simply the most charming place you will ever stay.
Pros:

We had a great stay. The Inn is simply the most charming place we've ever stayed. Our room was amazing. The guest staff were amazing; the breakfast was tasty, elegantly plated and served quickly. The visit was so good we immediately contacted several couples we know and we all booked a weekend in September. If it's so nice you want to share it with friends; it must be really nice!

Cons:

I wish I could have tipped upfront at check in. We didn't have much cash and the hosting staff were truly deserving a good tip.

Beautifully updated building. Room/bathroom was spacious. Lobby, bar and screened in porch gave plenty of places to hang out. Happy hour had great wine choices to go with the cheese/fruit plate provided. Plenty of other choices provided at the bar to buy if wine is not for you. Try not to miss breakfast unless you can't get out of the comfy bed. Easy walk into town. Staff is great and really welcoming.

Cons:

Maybe extend breakfast hours to 10 or 10:30? Make ice machine more accessible (we hate bothering for something simple.) We have stayed at an inn that had a small freezer with prepacked ice bags, so no loud noisy ice machine in the hallway.

We had a lovely and memorable stay at The White Birch Inn
Pros:

The White Birch Inn is housed in a 100 year old building that was converted to a quaint inn roughly 11 years ago. Sits in downtown Clayton, conveniently located within a short walk to shops & really good restaurants.
Rooms are all themed. Ours was the Mountain Laurel Suite which had elevated rustic decor, a working fireplace, copper soaking tub and separate walk in shower. When we checked in there was a personalized welcome card and menus for each of us to select our multi course breakfast for the next morning. In the evening there is turn down service and a lovely list of local attractions and activities as well as the daily forecast for the area. Very nice touch.
Linens & towels were great quality and robes are provided. The bed was very comfortable.
There are many common areas including the reception area which houses a bar where they host a wine & cheese happy hour every evening. A delicious breakfast is served in another beautiful room. There is a patio with fire pit, and a couple of porches to enjoy.

Cons:

Can’t think of anything.

We loved the Inn but on the corner of a busy street.
Pros:

Everything was beautiful, clean and welcoming.
The staff were excellent and friendly.
The breakfast was very delicious.

Cons:

The room we stayed in was right on the main
thoroughfare. It was very noisy because of the traffic.
We would not stay in that particular room again.
