the staff is wonderful, the food always delicious and fresh, the bungalows spacey and comfy, all made from local material, short drive away from park, in beautiful setting! Leppa, the self-taught masai owner and guide is simply wonderful! very caring and always ensuring everyone is having a good time. he is very knowledgeable about the parks, the animals and very good at spotting or finding the. He also enthusiastically shares his Masai culture and background to render every activity and game drive with him simply magical!
nothing! Will definitely go back!
It is really a great stay in case you are traveling from Morogoro to Nyerere National Park via the backside entry at Matambwe Gate. Our room was fantastic. The food was excellent and abundant. The entire staff was really intensely active to ensure we would have the best time possible. Leepa Lenguka, the young and fully engaged Maasai owner, who is actively pursuing his dream together with a local team, really deserves all the support from especially 4 WD self drivers that pass the area. We will definitely stay at the place again, if we are lucky to travel once more to Tanzania.
Nothing. Just make sure you have a 4WD to make it up the short hill to the camp.
The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. The food was good and had some good variety and we really liked even the packed GameDay lunches. Leppa is a knowledgeable and professional guide with a big heart and a friendly attitude. He is a proud Maasai guide who readily shared his culture with us and we thoroughly enjoyed our full-day game drive in the park. Highly recommend and we will be back!
We were unaware that there were two ways to reach the lodge from Dar, one which requires crossing the National park and paying the fees and would have planned our route through Morogoro to avoid this.
There is absolutely nothing to fault with Lemara from the moment Leepa collected us from Kisaki train station till moment we left everything was perfect.
The staff are all truly wonderful and we now consider as friends, the game drive, walking safari and visit to the local farmers market with traditional farmers bbq were some of the highlights of what was a fantastic 4 days. The accommodation is extremely clean, comfortable along with the food cooked and served by chef is amazing. Will definitely go back for a longer stay next time.

Lemara Camp was a enjoyable place to stay for a safari in Selous. We came from Dar es Salaam by train to Kisaki and were picked up and heartily welcomed by the Lemara team. The room was spacious, fine furnished and clean. The food was various and tasty. We booked a one-day safari in Selous directly with Lemara and were lucky to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, gnus, buffaloes, antilopes, monkeys,…
An incredible day with Leepa, our Maasai guide and one of the best encounters I've had on this trip. He told us all about his journey and his dream to share his culture with the rest of the world, to make other people's dreams come true, and to bring healing to those who need it most. If you have the opportunity to go on safari, I highly recommend her organization (Lenguska's travel). All with respect for nature and the animals. An unfailing kindness and benevolence, ensuring our safety while sharing his culture. A great team at Lemara, including a very good chef (who prepared a meal for us when we arrived very late at 1:00 am)! Superb ecolodge in the middle of nature, in a peaceful setting...
Thanks again Leepa, for everything. I'll never forget our conversations and laughter.
The food was great! Everything was very fresh. We took one breakfast in the game park and one at the camp. Both were very good. The evening meals were African style but very tasty and fresh.
The road driving in is not very good. When we got to the top we were all pleasantly surprised.
I loved absolutely everything during my stay at Lemara camp. The land that Leepa has chosen to build his eco camp is pure beauty and peace. Monkeys and dears I saw various times at sunrise and sunset. The cottages are so well equipped and designed, blending perfectly with Nature so you can enjoy and view it. Harmony is present everywhere. Hot water from solar panels working very well, only natural materials but great comfort and practicallity. Everything made with exquisite purity and refinement.
But besides the place, the friendliness of Leepa and all the staff makes you feel home immediately! A home you don’t want to leave… I extended my stay because I had fun, learnt about the local culture, the surroundings, the Masai culture. Leepa is an incredible host. And Isaia a great chef who loves to serve and make you happy with his food. This place is filled with Love!!!
Absolutely Nothing!!! Could not even find a tiny detail to complain about…
