Amazing location in a beautiful building.
We were thoroughly disappointed with our stay at Pension Riedl in December 2025.
We checked in via the self check-in system on 22 December, collecting our keys using the provided code. When we arrived in our room that evening, we discovered there was no hot water. We attempted to shower at approximately 7:30pm and again at around 11:00pm, but there was still no hot water available.
We contacted property management and received a response the following morning confirming they were already aware of the issue and had attempted to arrange a plumber, but that it could not be fixed. As of approximately 9:30am on 23 December, there was still no hot water.
After a long day of travel, not being able to shower or access basic amenities was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable, particularly in the middle of winter. Access to hot water is a fundamental expectation of any accommodation and should not be treated as a minor inconvenience.
What was most disappointing was the lack of communication. It was clear the property was already aware of the issue prior to our arrival, yet no notification was provided before check-in - not via Booking.com, direct message, signage at the property, or written information with the keys. We only found out after raising the issue ourselves.
Despite enquiring multiple times through Booking.com, no compensation or meaningful remediation was offered.
On the second night of our two-night stay, we were also woken between 2–3am by very loud talking, banging and movement outside our room.
Overall, the room itself was average, but the lack of hot water, poor communication, and disruption during the night made this a highly disappointing stay.
No toilette. Room was cold. Was veet difficult to find ni kand mark was given. Staff were very very good.
The location was excellent. Staff were always super friendly and helpful. I liked my room, the bed was comfy. I liked the fact that I had a little balcony and a large window. The room was spacious and light.
The 'bathroom' was odd. The toilet was smelly at first, something to do with the particular waste set up. But, though small, the shower was OK.
The doors to the rooms were metal and when mine opened, there was another door. Quite odd but didn't detract from my stay.
I would definitely stay again.
