This is a highly recommended sublime hotel, defo 5* rating
Pros:

The Cheshire Cat is a superb hotel, the location is wonderful and for me it was excellent, the rooms were extremely spacious & comfortable.

The staff were brilliant in every aspect asked of them during our entire visit.

Pros:

Really quiet location near the canal, comfy large room for a family of 4 (including two teenagers).

Cons:

We stayed during a heatwave and the building being old does not have air conditioning, but there wasn't a fan to help with the heat either. The bed for our teenagers was a double sofa bed, not ideal for a brother and sister. Perhaps, with the size of the room, two single beds could have been used.

Second visit - booked ahead of the Mid Cheshire 5k race

Great location near the canal - great for a run or walk

Lovely breakfast

Evening meal lovely (chicken skewers) - the female lady serving was a credit to the company - worked her socks off - taking orders & bringing food

Cons:

The Head office of this very large company needs to spend some money on upgrading headboards in the bedrooms & paint refresh as some areas looking tired and worn

The headboard flakes off onto the pillow, not a great when resting in bed

Sehr stimmungsvolle Unterkunft, tolle Parkanlage, scheint ein beliebtes Ausflugslokal für die lokale Bevölkerung zu sein, individuell bestellbares Frühstück, gute Ausgangslage für eine Besichtigung von Chester, 45 Fußweg entlang eines Kanals bis in die Innenstadt

Weg zu den Zimmern für Personen mit mobiler Einschränkung etwas herausfordernd, viele Gäste mit Hunden, was uns aber eigentlich nicht gestört hat

Two nights in a great location
Pros:

Beautiful old building- comfortable and homely feel. We had a spacious room with big en-suite in the main house. Great location.

Lovely style, rooms a decent size, located right next to the canal. Food was very nice

Not really anything else around, a long walk to Chester around an hour. Also felt a bit pricey considering it was room only.
