Food / dinner was excellent, staff were great.
The temperature in my room was nothing short of a furnace - the bedside fan served no purpose at all. I know it was exceptionally hot but i think the hotel need to think about investing in portable air-con units. I literally could have passed out in there, it was so hot i vacated my room at 04.30am for respite
Location and parking
Rooms was tiny and window wouldn't stay open on one of the hottest days of the year. The whole place was grubby, tables outside hardly ever cleared and definitely never wiped down.
Just the location
Food. Cleanliness.. staff
Nice gardens and lovely lunch and breakfast
Room was a bit dark
Check in procedure was easy and the staff were very helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The evening meal was very good and once again the staff were very helpful.
I stayed at The Cheshire Cat on the night that England played their first game in the World Cup. I watched the first half of the game in my room and at half time I went to the bar for a drink. The staff were still behind the bar but they refused to serve me because it was 10.10pm and the bar closed at 10.00pm.
Even as a hotel guest I was unable to get a drink after 10.00pm which, in my opinion, is totally unacceptable.
Beautiful place situated in a lovely rural spot. Gardens to sit in stunning.
Staff absolutely brilliant. Food excellent. Room spacious clean overlooking garden had room for the three of us. Beds clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee set up on room table. We loved it all.
There wasn't anything we didnt like.
By the canal
Shabby, tiny and very very hot room. There was a fan in the room but that didn’t do much. It was 10 degrees hotter in the room than outside. We attempted to sleep with the window open but the noise of the kitchen extractor kept us awake. Bed really hard. All in all we felt like we were being tortured so we left after the first night.
Room was spacious and modern. Great location by the canal. Restaurant served really nice food.
Insufficient bar staff. No one was clearing tables in the evening. Loads of glasses left on tables and piled up on the bar. Just didn't create a good impression.
Lovely location cosy hotel, staff & food great
Couldn’t fault it
In a lovely location, the rooms were nice and clean
I was in a single room and the window was at floor level , which I don’t mind at all, but I did lean on the bar at one point the safety bar across the window and as I lent on it… the safety bar came tumbling down that did bother me as it is very dangerous that would make you fall. also a single bed was a very small one and it was very hard.
Location, and lovely helpful staff . Food excellent , plenty of inside seating and outside garden and seating area .Loved walking along the canal ,. Large room with excellent shower and bathroom .
The mattress was very hard , and the stairs would not have suited anyone with mobility issues , but we were aware of this before booking , only one toilet downstairs
Stayed before , many years ago, very handy for park and ride and ideal spot for our mini break
Maybe because of my age ( old ) I miss the old pub classic meals somewhat. ( Scampi ,pies etc ) I know times have changed and it's hard to keep up with it all.
Lovely location by the canal and nicely set back from the busy road.
Rooms were a reasonable size, although a little dark, great for sleeping but not for sitting in or using the mirrors etc.
Excellent dining experience both from the evening menu and breakfast in the morning. Polite and helpful staff who were prepared to go the extra mile! In fact my sister had her wedding reception there and everything was perfect !
Our bedroom had a very “rickety” clothes rail which had obviously seen better days, however it served its purpose for our short stay!
The mattress was terribly hard, not firm but really hard!!! Hopefully it can be replaced as it was not an enjoyable nights sleep at all !!
Staff were efficient and friendly, room was clean and well presented with all essential amenities.
Breakfast included in price was exceptional and set me up for the day.
Dinner menu was very good and well presented.
all was as I expected no negative thoughts required.
Rustige ligging, goed restaurant, gratis parking
Ontbijt typisch Engels maar dat weet je op voorhand natuurlijk
