The food is fantastic now and the bar and restaurant lovely and most of the staff are very helpful.
They swapped my room that I had booked 8months in advance as i needed disabled access to someone else that required a walk in shower? I was notified when i came to check in and as it was the only disabled access room they gave to someone else i had to take what was given to me.
It was my wedding weekend and the room in the outbuildings were tatty, they gave me a cheap fan and so as the Bride I had.to struggle with the change of room and the lack of support in the heat. Not a good start to my wedding weekend. Myself and my guests also suffered with terrible beds, smells from the toilets, dirty rooms, stained beds and chairs!! It gave faulty towers a run for its money! There were no toiletries, limited towels, no glasses and coffee in the room...it was absolutely awful to stay in totally ruined our pre wedding night and weekend stay and what was worse we paid a fortune for the privilege. And such a shame...has so much potential beautiful place, good food and restaurant....better off to sleep in the car sadly 🤷♀️😌
Location was perfect for our Chester stay and had everything we needed.
Nothing
Breakfasts were prepared to order, they were good, great value and we able to sit and chat to friends without being pressurised to leave (Wednesday night stay).
Extras such as toast, cereals were apparently not available
Lovely room, friendly staff, ideal location for races and city centre.
All good.
The atmosphere of the Cheshire Inn was very pleasant & the staff went out of their way to be friendly & helpful! Thank you to both the gentlemen that helped us to our room which was up 2 flights of stairs! If booking again we would request a room on ground level!
The stairs to our Room 9 were very steep & we could not manage our bags up the steps! As the Inn was fully booked we were unable to change rooms so the manager took them up fior us which we were very grateful!
Very good location and well sign posted. Great parking and a warm welcome.
Cooked breakfast was excellent.
Being in a room separate from main building and with a wasp problem. Very heavy doors and unexpected stairs through the heavy room door. Made access tight and difficult.
Granola was like sawdust.
Very efficient checkin

Lovely little place, would visit again
Location was lovely and the hotel grounds are lovely
Quiet. Clean. Cozy.
Absolutely beautiful building
No one’s fault but there was a wasps next next to our window
Staff friendly, relaxed but attentive
Lovely atmosphere
Good location and great walk by the canal.
Nothing
The breakfast was excellent.
The room was very nice & clean.
The pub is right by the canal which is nice, especially as it is possible to walk along the canal path right into Chester.
The pub is only 5 minutes drive away from an easy park & ride service into the centre of Chester (£5 return ticket).
The pub is looking tired in places, particularly the breakfast room, which definitely needs updating.
The fan in the bathroom of our room was very loud.
Room was clean and the evening meal was tasty at a reasonable price.
We were completely ignored for at least 10 minutes when we first arrived, despite there being at least 3 members of staff working right in front of us. Appreciate they were busy serving at the bar but not one of them acknowledged we were there waiting, with our bags right at the “check in” sign. Very unwelcoming, very poor first impression.
Room 10; the bed was hard and not comfortable and the extractor fans are loud and right opposite the room windows.
