In the Lands End Resort email, asking for the review, the HIGH STANDARD of the facility was mentioned. My question is : What high standards???
Below is our opinion. Other guests voiced the same concerns, but it's up to them to write their own review.
The facility is very run down. Nothing that resembles the pictures posted on Booking.com. Looks like everything was staged for the pictures only. According to the pictures posted, the price per night matched it but not in the reality, grossly overpriced.
The common areas are not clean, dirty glasses and full ashtrays, from the night before, were left until the next day. Empty bottles were scattered on the deck and in the restaurant for days. Broken bar stool was left standing by the bar through out our stay. Ripped cushions on the sitting benches in the restaurant area.
Garbage can in the room was never emptied during our stay (5 days).
Rooms were never cleaned, even once, throughout our stay.
Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 8:30 only, guests could not even get a coffee before 7:30 am.
Many guests were up early and going out of the property in order to buy coffee before 7:30.
Fruits (plural) were offered with breakfast but throughout our stay the only fruit that was on the plate was a water melon ( 3 very small triangular pieces). It is a tropical island after all, we can get water melon in Canada :(
If one was not able to eat eggs for breakfast the only other choice were pancakes with 3 pieces of water melon.
When two triangular pieces of dried out toast were offered, only one day with eggs, there was not butter or jam to put on the toast at all. Knife was never offered with breakfast, I guess if there was no butter or jam, you should cut the pancakes with the fork :) Very noisy, every day, from the construction site next door. This should have been mentioned by the resort management prior to booking or noise discount offered to guests. After all, guest are coming to listen to waves not power tools.
The view and friendly staff
The resort is very run down and dirty. Nothing that resembles the pictures posted on Booking.com. Grossly overpriced for the standard offered. On the tropical island, we were offered 3 small triangular pieces of water melon with each breakfast, instead of any tropical fruits. Dirty glasses, dishes and ashtrays were left over night, greeting guests in the morning. Empty bottles were laying around for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was served between 7:30 and 8:30 and before that time you couldn’t even get a cup of coffee. Guests were going outside the hotel to but the coffee in the morning. Broken bar stool was standing there during our whole stay. Lots of nosiness every day from the adjacent construction site, no mention of it during the time of booking. During the 6 days stay no room service was provided, which is being advertised on hotel site.

Leslie the front desk receptionist was really nice. The hotel was by the beach. Bed was comfy
Roach running around in my room. That's a no no. Spoke to manager about it and she dis nothing about it. As a matter of fact, in the morning ahe asked me.if I saw the roa h again. She said they fumugate . How do we know that true or not when a palmetto bug- roach running around.
Beautiful location and so quiet with only the sound of the waves at night. The staff were wonderful, kind and personably. Alex and Dania took the best care of us!

It's a very old room with just a bed. Bathroom was very old and not good shower. No closet space for clothes and the room was not spacious enough.

Pool was on maintenance during our stay which was very disappointing, but other than that we had a great time there
Everything about staying here was phenomenal. Dania was super responsive and very helpful. She coordinated my pickup from the ferry (Galaxy Wave) and the driver gave me some history and reccomendations for Roatan. The room was a really great size with a full and twin bed, spacious bathroom, and windows facing the garden and beach. It is a beach front stay, and they have a staircase that goes right into the crystal blue sea. Restaruant/bar onsite, and the breeakfast(included) and drinks(can open a tab for your room) were so good. Also did laundry here and they were quick to return it same day. Infinity pool was nice and it was perfect view for sunsets in the evening. Very reasonably priced and walking distance from other businesses, restaurants, and beaches. I also took the early 6am Friday ferry out, and they coordinated taxi for that too! I cannot wait to stay here again!!
