It's 20 minutes walking to the city centre but it's a very quiet place to sleep. The receptionist is a very pleasant man and he gave us a lot of information. Room cleaned. We recommend it

The only semi good thing I can say is that it was close to the metro to get around
To just start we fully understood that this was a 2 star budget hotel and that we had booked a small room and that the stairs were steep and narrow as most places in Amsterdam are, we had absolutely no issue with that. We weren’t expecting luxury just a basic clean and safe place to stay which is in my opinion the bare minimum.
Unfortunately, what we experienced was completely unacceptable.
Within 15 minutes of checking in we had to leave due to the condition of the room. The walls were crumbling, there was dirty laundry left in the hallway, and most concerningly, there were what appeared to be mice droppings on the floor of our room. The bed sheets were visibly stained and there was hair and what appeared to be insects on the floor.
On top of that the locks and deadbolts on the door were broken, which made us feel extremely unsafe.
This wasn’t about the hotel being “budget” it was about basic hygiene and safety standards not being met at all. No guest should have to deal with these kinds of conditions.
We had no choice but to leave immediately and book another hotel at our own expense which was far better and we got a lot more value for our money.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious before booking.
Forholdsvis rent, kort avstand til Heineken og Leidseplein, enkel check-in og check-out. Fikk utsatt checkout 1t uten ekstra kostnad. Lite, men grei standard.
Luktet hasj i hele rommet, men det kan ha vært fra ute. Manglet dusjgardin så kom vann over hele badet.

A great budget hotel, good value for money, especially considering how expensive Amsterdam is. The host is friendly and chatty, with a great sense of humour too. He supplied a map and told us the areas to visit. The location is perfect, close to the metro, cafes, bars, supermarkets etc We were able to walk to all the interesting spots, including to the Paradiso music venue where we had tickets for a gig. We had small double rooms with single beds on the second floor which suited us perfectly. Very clean, comfy beds, clean towels, tv, kettle, hair dryer, mini fridge. All you need. The street is a quiet residential one and one of the rooms overlooked the gardens of the surrounding properties, so quiet and pleasant. We would definitely stay here again, a good find in an authentic tall Amsterdam house. Fantastic.

Nothing it was like a Bail hostel
The stairs where so steep they were dangerous the hand rail was coming away from the wall there was mould growing on the walls up the stairs and the bathroom was full of mould and the smell was unbearable this place should be closed down
