Please note that well behaved dogs are permitted in the ground floor rooms upon request for an extra charge. There is a maximum of 2 medium-sized dogs per room that can be accommodated.

Pros:

Lovely building, lovely setting. I loved the gardens and the grounds. Great facilities including the indoor and outdoor pools. Lovely staff and great food

Cons:

Just a couple of small criticisms. Not everyone is into the union flag and the daily telegraph

We needed a relaxing break away and we were not disappointed.
Pros:

We chose this hotel because of its facilities which included a spa and pool and its easy access to the New Forest. Set off the main road surrounded by gardens with lots of areas to sit and enjoy an afternoon tea.

Should have been so much better
Pros:

Stunning location, spotless and great staff especially the barman

Cons:

We booked the wrong room, however the single bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, and so noisy including them emptying the bottle bins at 6.00!!

Pros:

Ein wunderschönes Anwesen mit ganz viel Charme! Das Haus ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber gerade das macht den besonderen Reiz aus. Besonders begeistert hat uns der riesige Garten und die Kombination aus Innen- und Außenpool. Ein echtes Highlight war auch der Service: Wir wurden zwei Tage vor Ankunft kontaktiert, ob wir ein Dinner reservieren möchten – das Essen war fantastisch und das Personal durchweg mega nett. Wir haben uns hier rundum verwöhnt gefühlt!

Cons:

Es gab absolut nichts auszusetzen; wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen genossen.

It is a lovely hotel and we would stay again. Just needs a bit of TLC in places.
Pros:

Lovely staff, nice breakfast and evening meal. Free WiFi

Cons:

Some things could do with an update. Bed very soft and room furniture a bit dated. Room had some sort of generater outside making a low hum, but thankfully this stopped at night. Patio doors awkward to shut and balcony could do with some paint on the furniture. An aircon unit in the room would be nice. These are small things but make a difference to first impressions.
The chairs in the bar area are worn and sunken. Need replacing.

Excellent
Pros:

Beautiful building full of character, in a great location in lovely surroundings.
We really enjoyed our stay here, would recommend if youre wanting to visit the New Forest, being just a 5 minute drive away.
Staff were all amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Would stay here again if visiting the New Forest.

Cons:

Having to pay extra for breakfast.

A beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting which I found very relaxing.
Pros:

A beautiful property set in stunning grounds. Loved the garden area to sit and relax. Enjoyed wandering around the grounds which were so peaceful. The staff were friendly. I was only here for a one night stop over whilst on route home so would love to come back and experience it for longer as it felt lovely with the outdoor swimming pool to use, tennis courts and sauna. My single bed room was roomy and the bed and pillows very comfortable. I slept really well.

Nice hotel
Pros:

That it had an outside pool, we stayed for a night in May half term when it was very hot. Good size room.

Cons:

No food after 7.30pm but we were for warned and it did seem to be everywhere in the new forest including pubs.

Lovely location and grounds but staffing levels could be improved
Pros:

Room was ok but not as good as I hoped for a superior room. Bathroom was very dated and taps were not very clean.
Breakfast was good food-wise but delays on our drinks and toast which seemed to have been forgotten.
Had dinner the second night - nice food but overpriced. Service was poor.

Cons:

Staff service. Even when we left the receptionist just said “there’s zero to pay”. No hope you enjoyed your stay or even a goodbye.

Quaint hotel
Pros:

The second ti.e we've stayed.. and I would now we've found a room that suits us likely stay again.. the only issue and every hotel would have had this complaint was it was mentally hot in the room despite a fan... but it was the hottest day in may on record!
Lovely pool inside and out could benefit from a shower by the sauna so people shower before jumping into the pool all sweaty 😓

Cons:

People who aren't disabled using the spaces!
Price fluctuating nearly 30 more than last time
