Great location
Really old fashioned and worn out. Also can't access front of building from 11pm to 7 am but staff do let you know that you have to enter from back lane. I wonder is it used as a homeless hostel mostly with one or two rooms to booking .com etc. Very dated mould in bathroom. No lift and about 3 floors up some really old stairs. Kind of grubby too dust everywhere and floors not hoovered. In fairness not like that in room rather just communal areas. We paid for deluxe double not sure what was deluxe about it. Very hard to get staff at reception. Had emailed for early check in but impossible to find anyone there, when 3pm arrived we had to wait for quite a while. I'd say its a homelessness accommodation generally. Just something didn't seem right tbh. Cld see kitchens on cameras at reception but wo knows where in building they were. Wouldn't stay again tbh
room location
haveing breakfast
Location was great.
Too hot in the room, radiator thermostat was broken, light fittings need a good clean. Pillows were compacted and solid.
This is a charming and elegant hotel with lots of character. The rooms are huge with lovely big windows. Perfectly comfortable. The staff are lovely. It was very very nice not staying in a corporate chain hotel. We enjoyed having a drink in the cosy bar. Excellent location.
Yes it’s a bit dated but I would call it faded elegance. The back entrance from the car park looks scruffy. We stayed on a Saturday night and our room faced the street which was noisy from people having fun on a night out.
Sauberkeit und das Bett
Kein Frühstück im Haus dafür nebenan eine fantastische Bäckerei und exzellente Qualität
Great room! Beautiful old building right in the middle of the wonderful Rochester High Street. So nice to find a hotel with character and not some soulless modern horror.
The hotel could do with some refurbishment. Especially the carpets!

Upkeep and facilities
The staff were very friendly and thoughtful, putting us in a room at the back away from the high street and giving us a fan in the room as it was hot outside. The fan was hugely appreciated! The room was clean, and we had tea and coffee if we wanted. The TV was great, with lots of channels and streaming services to choose from. The location was perfect, right next to the train station and a short walk from the river. And right next door to a brilliant coffee shop too.
It could do with a refurb, some new furniture, etc, but it was clean and we were happy overall.
Such a lovely hotel nice sized rooms, staff were lovely but the owners are letting themselves down with silly issues that are simple to rectify if they paid a little more attention to details and comfort, a great place to stay and would definitely be worth the money if they sort a few problems out
1)Room 5 bed needs replacing it is broken, (but the staff were lovely and changed our rooms no problems what so ever),
2)Curtains not even hung on the hooks properly
3) paint work patches of different colours
4) carpets in bedrooms need a good clean very sticky in places were it's very old and worn
5) mold in the corners of the rooms and on the tiles in the bathrooms
6) this establishment does not offer breakfast/dinner (but you are surrounded with eating/drinking establishments)
We loved the real historical character
nothing
I had to pay for the second day when I left early because the hotel was not what I expected
Everything is nice for the stay.
Only the expired amenities.
