Our Ikaria Odyssey
Pros:

The staff was friendly and very welcoming. We felt like part of the family. Zacharias gave us such insightful information about Ikaria, its history and interesting places to visit. His suggestions regarding local taverns exceeded our expectations, and his directions were spot on! There is so much to see and do in Ikaria, we will definitely visit again and look forward to staying at the Ikaros Star Hotel! We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay somewhere serene with a beautiful sea view, sleeping to the sound of waves, waking to the sound of birds, and surrounded by friendly interesting people. Beautiful View and Peaceful Location

We loved the peaceful location and the stunning view.

The central location made it easy to explore both the northern coast and inland villages. And thanks to its forested hillside setting, the hotel stays pleasantly cool in the mornings and evenings — a big plus in summer.

Cons:

The hotel is perched on a hill, so be prepared for a steep 10-minute walk if you’re coming without a car — it can be challenging in the summer heat.

If breakfast is important to you, note that it was a bit underwhelming. There weren’t many fresh items like greens or tomatoes, which we normally expect.

One issue we had was with privacy. Despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door, housekeeping entered the room and changed the sheets. While this was done with good intentions, it didn’t align with our expectations. If you’re particular about privacy, it’s worth discussing this at check-in.
