A great location and surprisingly nice room (the double bed room)
Pros:

I was nicely surprised but this hotel - based on all the reviews, I had zero expectations. I had booked this place last minute and finished up booking a room with two beds for four people just for the two of us. This was actually very nice, as the room was quite large and had a nice view. The hotel staff were friendly and let us check out a bit after the standard check out time. The hotel's location was also very convenient, right next to the stairs from the visitor centre. I didn't know what was the hotel's name in English so was a bit worried about how to find it but the people in the visitor centre were very helpful so it worked out OK.

Cons:

There was no soundproofing and you could hear people in the corridor. The room is expensive but that's just what it is.

Lage war gut mit ansprechendem Ausblick und weiten Fenstern, so dass morgens ein schönes Licht ins Zimmer fällt: sauber, Betten gut

Cons:

Dusche für große Menschen ohne akrobatische Verrenkungen kaum nutzbar; Frühstück sehr schlecht (in externem Imbiss, Niveau weit unter Mensa-Niveau)

It’s absolutely okay for one night, but very mediocre
Pros:

Nice location in Alishan township. Interior is quite outdated/old, but in good shape and clean.
Breakfast was held at a nearby restaurant, quite convenient when returning from the sunrise hike.

Cons:

Pricy for what you get, but that comes with the location

Pros:

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja, cicha i spokojna okolica. To pokój o skromnym i podstawowym wyposażeniu. Na plus ogrzewany materac w łóżku i czajnik. Ogólnie czysto w pokoju i łazience. Jedna z najtańszych opcji w Alishan, ale obiekt wystarczający, żeby się przespać i wziąć prysznic.

Choose the four-person room with a window. It’s definitely better than you’d expect! And don’t forget, you’re staying up in the mountains, so lower your expectations a little.

Pros:

There were three huge beds for people of six in the room. And a electric blanket on each bed.

Cons:

There was no staff at three clock chick-in time. There was a phone number to call for the staff; however, it was not helpful for guests from overseas who didn't have a local phone number to make the call. I left a message on booking.com for them to help me. Nobody replied.

You pay a price for an exclusive location, not luxury
Pros:

It’s not the property, Alishan Forest and it’s great nature are the only reason to book a room in that area.

Cons:

Even in a touristic spot where guests just come to sleep a few hours between star watching and sun rise, I would expect a bit more modern atmosphere and equipment. My wife said it reminds her on a lost place.
The breakfast was okay if you do not expect a western one. If you’re not a friend of noodles with veg in the morning you can eat a toast with jam.

Reasonable hotel in Alishan
Pros:

Check in was quick and easy. The lady on the desk was helpful and friendly.
The hotel is well located in the National Scenic Area.
The room was clean.
Breakfast was not in the hotel itself but in a restaurant a short walk away. The breakfast was buffet style, there was plenty of choice and it was tasty.

Cons:

The hotel is a bit dated (but that didn't bother us). It's expensive compared to other places in Taiwan, but that's standard for Alishan.
There was no shower curtain so we managed to flood the bathroom floor a few times. But there was plenty of hot water!

you get a little more then what you paid for...
Pros:

the location couldn't be better.. its inside the park and very close to the restaurants and secinic train, good value for the amount I paid.

Cons:

very thin walls.. I could hear the person in the next room snoring and he wasn't too loud, i was staying in the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, google translate is a must when speaking to the staff.
