An absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel and staff are lovely.
Pros:

Everything was beyond expectations. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The parking is in a garage, and everything is connected by elevators. The ski room is perfect. The first lift is less than 50 meters away—you literally just cross the street, put on your skis, and ski down to the Zentrum lift.

The pools and saunas are clean and well maintained. A special highlight is the outdoor whirlpool on the terrace above the pool—sitting in hot water, wearing a wool hat provided for you, enjoying the falling snow and the view of the surrounding mountains. Absolutely perfect.

The food is very good. Breakfast is so rich that it’s hard to imagine anyone missing anything. Dinner is excellent.

All in all, highly recommended.

Cons:

I truly can’t think of anything that bothered me that is related to Hotel.
The only thing that bothered me in Obertauern was that the slopes were not as well groomed as, for example, in the Dolomites. I visited relatively late in March, and skiing after 1 PM was quite difficult. I hope this isn’t an issue earlier in the season.

Extrem Empfehlenswert
Pros:

Das Alpenland Hotel ist extrem Empfehlenswert. Das Personal, egal ob Management, Front Desk, Service, Bar oder Housekeeping ist außergewöhnlich hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Die Auswahl, Qualität und der Geschmack der Menus und der Buffets ist sehr gut. Das Silvester Vorspeisenbuffet war sehr, sehr gut und Umfangreich. Pool, Saunen und Relaxbereich sind ausreichend groß und bieten einen tollen Ausblick auf die Berge. Die Bäder scheinen frisch renoviert. Die Fußbodenheizung in den Bädern ist sehr angenehm. Die Tiefgarage ist auch mit großen SUVs gut zu befahren. Der Schikeller ist Super. Habe ich in dieser Form noch nicht gesehen. Die Lage ist mitten im Ort. Alle Geschäfte, Bars und Restaurants sind gut fußläufig zu erreichen. Perfekter Ski-In, keine 20m vom Schikeller. Unser Zimmer hatte einen tollen Ausblick auf die Berge.

Cons:

Es hat nichts, nicht gefallen. Im Hotel war alles perfekt. In Obertauern hätte etwas mehr Schnee fallen können.

A magical place for a vacation
Pros:

Beautiful, cozy hotel with smiling staff, amazing cuisine. It was especially delicious. Heated pool, saunas, just everything you could want after a great day of skiing. Amazing landscape, mountains all around. You can practically ski right up to your room.

Overall for the price we payed its an easy 10/10 😃
Pros:

The location was good, stuff was friendly and helpful, they even let us use the ski room on that last day that was super convenient. So overall for the price we paid we would give it an easy 10\10.

Cons:

The only down side is that the rooms are really not sound proof and you can hear people from other rooms and the hallway.

Be sure to reserve dinner before stay
Pros:

Cleanliness is excellent, location is just next to the ski lift, hospitality by most of the stuff is superb.

Cons:

Dinner pricing is untransparent. Make sure to reserve the dinner via booking.com. They will try to charge dinner 50€ per person per night on the location.

Pros:

Breakfast, dinner, afternoon snacks, all food is great. Staff super nice. Ski’s safe in lockers. Very pleasant atmosphere. Zentrallift right outside the Skiraum.

Cons:

A little less convenient when walking around village: the hotel is in uphill location coming from center of the village, (minor thing of course, its in the mountains ;-)). Balconies are ´shared´, not private.
