sehr freundliches Personal
super Essen
I've honestly never been to a hotel where the staff are so unhelpful and unfriendly! We were made so unwelcome we left and found elsewhere. Admittedly my German is not good but it was very obvious we were very unwelcome
Very nice rooms with a lot of space and more than enough storage place. The restaurant offers fine food and a luxuary breakfast buffet. Service was excellent and friendly
Excellent place to stay. Close to the lift.
Very convenient location, excellent accessibility to skiing, very good facilities, relaxing areas and comfortable rooms! In the middle of a fairy tale town, the Lohningers and the staff make you feel as part of the family during your stay, and make you forget your daily routines (which is what vacation is all about). Very caring and polite, within a very nice establishment, they provide all the ingredients for a nice escape in the Alps. Definitely going back again in the future!
Lovely family run warm and well equipped and decorated hotel. Spent a week here for half term with two families. The hosts kindly put us in next door rooms and table to eat together and were very kind and helpful at any request especially when one child had a fall skiing and they arranged a local doctor to see her.
Lovey food from breakfast, tea and 5 course meal in evening plus kids buffet (2 choices).
Used sauna and steam room once which were good, clean and lots of towels available.
Rooms were well designed and maintained- hot as most Austrian hotels seems to be- sofa bed for kids was comfy too.
Walkable to Natrun gondola (we left ski kit overnight there so easy in morning even though there is storage at hotel also which we didn’t see) and even closer to tow bar lift.
Parking by hotel or over the road for overflow.
Lovey picturesque town also with cafes, ski shops although we stayed at hotel in evenings.
Great ski school for kids and lots of lovely huttes for snacks drinks and food during skiing day.
The Lohningerhof is not really a 4-star hotel. It s noisy, directly located at the main road, wifi is weak or not available in the rooms and the food could be fresher. What surprised me most is that the manager/owner didn’t help me with a 1page printout. He even said he didn’t know anywhere in the whole village for a printout. When I offered to send him an email to print the attachment, he just said: „No, we are a holiday hotel.“ When I was there, hotel was empty with a few guests in their 70s. Next day a bus full of older people checked in. Maybe better in winter, however in summer there might be other hotels focusing more on customer satisfaction. For me, a poor 2,5 points, below average! Underwhelming
Near the skislopes in Maria Alm, a good modern hotel. Very nice staff with a great hospitality! Food is great. They manage to combine a modern nice look with an Austrian feel to it. We (family) had a excellent stay and plan to come back next year.
As two couples we stayed for one week with half board in this clean, modern hotel. We were even upgraded to a bigger room for free. The food was excellent with good portions (too much some days!) and the staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us all. Special thanks to our waiter Timmy who sorted out bus and train times to Salzburg from his own mobile for us and gave us tips on the best skiing in the area! The hotel is in a perfect location, with the ski bus stopping right outside the boot room door and the Natrun and Aberg just moments away. The hotel is also close to all the local Apres Ski haunts which were very popular and lively. We're all looking forward to our next visit to this lovely family run hotel.
we stayed at this hotel for our ski holiday, the location is good, family rooms are spacious with lots of storage spaces, the hotel has ski storage which is very convenient, good selection of TV channels, breakfast was OK.
spa facilities were very poor, there is no swimming pool not even a jacuzzi, with all the people walking around nude it is definitely not a family spa. they advertise as a family hotel but have no actual place for kids of any age to enjoy. At dinner the food was repeated many times in our stay (5 nights), and we sat at the table for more than 3 hours because the service was very slow and poor. the kids menu had no change whatsoever throughout our whole stay.
Just returned after a nice holiday in Austria, staying in Hotel Lohningerhof. We booked via a travel agency including halfboard and and ski lift passes. We upgraded to a 1 Bedroom suite for a fair daily fee. The room was newly renovated (the whole hotel is newly renovated) and very nice, clean and comfortable. The kids loved the stars in the ceiling when the lights was out. The breakfast buffet was very nice and fresh. At breakfast you choose your dinner from a small menu (different every day). There was a salad buffet and then a soup, then a starter, main course and finally dessert. All very tasteful and good quality. The only comment i have is the Children's menu, 5 out of 6 days it was french fries with something.Maybe a small kids dinner buffet would be better. All the staff are very very friendly and helpful. The hotel fully deserves the 4 star rating. The free wifi was good.
I went skiing to Austria with a group of friends and we had a lovely time at this hotel. Everybody was very friendly and happy to help with our requests ( like finding a table for 14 people at the last minute in Maria Alm). I would recommand this hotel to friends.
Three negatives: - you need to get the bus to the slopes. Only a very short ride but the waiting and the standing in a packed bus with skis... Was ok but not great.
- The owner was best pal with a Deutch family ( the dad was the DJ at the hotel on New Year's Eve). The children would run up and down the floors, shout and 'sing' as loud as they could every evening and morning. 2nd and 3rd floors were going crazy! We were probably unlucky to there as the same time as them.
- Our taxi was picking us up at 3pm so we wanted to go skiing, leave our bags somewhere and have a shower. Not possible! Eventually, after a long explaining, we got a room for our bags... no shower though.
I would still recommand this hotel, the staff was very nice ( but you are dealing with the Autrian rigidity), rooms were very clean and breakfast excellent! We were not half board so we didn't get to eat the deliously smelling and looking evening dinners. We went skiing to an other part of Austria last and it most certainly wasn't as nice.
I would go back to Maria Alm and to the same hotel. The location in terms of restaurants and bars is also very good. We had great fun! You must try the 'Dancing Bar' (couldn't make it up!).
