Unfortunately, the way a serious problem with our room was handled really affected our stay.
I had specifically booked and paid extra for a room with a balcony. When we arrived, we were told that the balcony door was broken. It could not be properly closed or secured, and our room was on the first floor with lower roofs directly below the balcony, so I did not feel comfortable leaving our belongings in an unsecured room or sleeping there with my 11-year-old son.
We reported the problem straight away and were told that a handyman had been contacted. We spent a large part of our first day waiting, expecting someone to come and fix it. By around 6pm nobody had arrived, so I went back to reception to ask again. I also asked whether we could move to another room, but was told the hotel was fully booked.
When we returned from dinner after 9pm, the balcony door was still broken and open. Instead of being able to settle down for the night, I then had to stay in the room and wait for a handyman to arrive later that evening. By that point my son was already asleep in bed. The door couldn't simply be closed normally; the handyman had to wedge something between the door and the frame so that it would at least remain secured overnight.
We went out the following morning, and when we returned in the evening of our second day, the balcony door had finally been properly repaired.
What disappointed me most was the hotel's response to the situation. We had paid extra specifically to have a balcony, yet the balcony door created a security issue, disrupted a significant part of our first day and even had to be dealt with late at night while my child was sleeping. Despite this, the hotel did not offer us any reduction, refund or other gesture for the inconvenience.
After our stay I raised the issue with Booking.com. They contacted the accommodation but later informed me that they were unable to reach an agreement with the property. Booking.

Best Hotel in central Ohrid
Pros:

Location was perfect , view was incredible and rooms are clean and modern. Despite lots of noise outside, the room windows are foible glazed and is silent inside. Restaurant food is impeccable and staff were very nice!

Cons:

Whilst this didn’t affect me, the parking is limited but not impossible.

Emplacement idéal
Pros:

L’emplacement de l’hôtel était idéal, en plein cœur de la ville. En revanche, le personnel n’était ni très sympathique ni particulièrement serviable. Il est également regrettable qu’aucun petit-déjeuner ne soit proposé.
