Anxiety inducing
Pros:

Friendly laid back atmosphere.

Cons:

Insect screens instead of windows. Terrible noise from generator outside my window all night long. Shower not working on arrival. Just entirely unacceptable.

It looks better in the photos than it is in real life
Pros:

It's very close to a really good beach, they have generators in case the power goes out (which is super normal in Zanzibar) and the breakfast was good.

Cons:

It's not a clean place; there were many things lying around, damaged things, the seat cushions looked dirty, there's a clear lack of maintenance.

It looks much better in the photos than it does in its current state, so it doesn't really match what you see.

The receptionist's customer service was not very friendly.

When we arrived there wasn't even any toilet paper and we had to ask for it; they gave us some used toilet paper and then after they finally gave us a new piece of paper. These are small details that ultimately make a difference and demonstrate a lack of care in the place and for the customers.

Pros:

The property is located close to one of the best beaches in Zanzibar! The staff is great, specially Ali and Mohamed who were very friendly and gave us great tips for tours and where to buy stuff! The breakfast is fine and they also serve a la carte menu for lunch and dinner with good options and reasonable prices.

Great location
Pros:

The location is really great - like a 2 minutes walk to the beach. They have a lovely garden which we used often to get away from the sun. The rooms are big, the bed was nice - pretty basic but you don't need a lot more. The staff is super friendly, made our stay lovely and helped with everything, from information to laundry to transportation to Stonetown. Nice breakfast with fruit, eggs, peanut butter and hot drinks.

Cons:

The rooms could be a bit brighter for my preference.
