The stairs!!! I requested a room on the lowest floor possible, and was given a room on the floor above reception. What I didn't realise was that to get to reception, you have to climb a steep flight of stairs stretching over two floors!!!

Voor de locatie doe je t, zeker niet in de winter
Pros:

De lokatie is echt fantastisch. Het uitzicht op de Westertoren.
Gelukkig was de weg opgebroken en hadden we geen last van het verkeer en de tram die er normaliter langskomt.

Cons:

De badkamer is onverwarmd, en in de winter echt vreselijk koud. Alles werd nat als je ging douchen, de wc, de wastafel en al je spullen en de kraan bleef druppelen, maar dat was nogwel t kleinste probleem.
Het ontbijt was best bijzonder, iedere dag boterhamworst en smeerkaas en boterhammen, pakje sap.

Ontbijt was geen ontbijt te noemen: 2 boterhammen en 1 koffiebroodje en pakje boterhamworst te verdelen over 2 personen. Eitje was prima, yoghurtje ook. Oploskoffie zelf te zetten.
Was geen volwaardig ontbijt voor 2.

Meine Erfahrung im Hotel de Westertoren war äußerst enttäuschend. Während meines Aufenthalts habe ich nachts Insekten in meinem Zimmer gefunden. Als ich das Personal informierte, versuchten sie, Insektizid zu sprühen, während ich noch im Zimmer war, was eine klare Verletzung der Gesundheits- und Sicherheitsstandards darstellt. Am nächsten Tag bat ich um gründliche Reinigung oder einen Zimmerwechsel, aber das Personal lehnte ab und behauptete, dass Insekten „in Amsterdamer Hotels sehr normal“ seien – ein unprofessionelles Verhalten.

Zusätzlich wurde ich von einem anderen Gast rassistisch verbal belästigt und mit Handgesten angegriffen, während das Personal nichts Effektives unternahm, außer zu sagen „Halt die Klappe“.

Das Hotel nahm die gesamte Zahlung in bar für 7 Nächte entgegen und weigerte sich, diese nach der Stornierung meines Aufenthalts zurückzuerstatten, und sie stellten auch keine offizielle Rechnung aus.
Ich empfehle dringend Vorsicht beim Buchen. Diese Erfahrung verursachte psychischen Stress und ein Gefühl der Unsicherheit während meines Aufenthalts in Amsterdam.

My experience at Hotel de Westertoren was extremely disappointing. During my stay, I found insects in my room at night. When I informed the staff, they tried to spray insecticide while I was still inside the room, which is a clear violation of health and safety standards. The next day, I requested proper cleaning or a room change, but the staff refused, claiming that insects are “very normal in Amsterdam hotels,” which was unprofessional.

Additionally, I was verbally harassed with racist comments and hand gestures by another guest in front of the staff, who did nothing effective except saying “shut up.”

The hotel took full payment in cash for 7 nights and refused to refund it after my reservation was cancelled, and they also refused to provide an official invoice.

I strongly advise caution before booking here. This experience caused distress and a lack of security during my stay in Amsterdam.

La ubicación esta muy bien , la habitación modesta pero se agradece que tenga nevera
El desayuno completo y además el responsable del hotel adapto los horarios de llevártelo a la habitación a nuestras necesidades así que es de agradecer
La relación calidad precio y viendo como están los hoteles allí y con su ubicación no esta mal.
Es un hotel para ir a dormir

Cons:

Lo peor es el acceso, hay unas escaleras estrechas y empinadas. No esta muy bien insonorizado y se oyen los ruidos de las demás habitaciones
