As fabulous as I’d hoped.
Pros:

It’s simply magnificent. There’s nothing else to say. I really liked the directory in the television monitor. I also really enjoyed the gym and sauna area.

Cons:

Unfortunately my bed was really hard, but otherwise the room was lovely.

A stay with wonderful service and a beautiful historic setting, but rooms and design dissapointing.
Pros:

We enjoyed our stay at Pousada Palácio de Estoi. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit, and the breakfast was good with a pleasant variety. The service team really does their best to create a welcoming experience.

Cons:

That said, the overall design and layout of the hotel were disappointing. When booking, you expect to stay in a historic palace, but the palace element is mainly limited to the main building. The guest rooms are located in more modern sections and have a Scandinavian-inspired style that now feels somewhat dated. The wood cupboards were chipped, and the towels and bedding felt old. It’s a pity that more effort wasn’t made to carry even a touch of the palace’s historic character through into the rooms. Unfortunately, this disconnect between expectation and reality detracted from the overall experience, despite the staff’s excellent service.

Beautiful building
Pros:

Beautiful building, very well maintained and tourists have been kept out which means you can enjoy it without the stress of crowds or strangers bothering you. Staff all very accommodating and a free upgrade, drink from the bar, water and snack was provided.

Good amenities like hairdryer, shampoo, shower cap and a delicious breakfast. The tart with kiwi was just amazing. The place was quiet, despite being full, and everyone was mutually respectful so when you were in the garden they’d often wait for you to finish to explore or do so but give some distance so it didn’t feel crowded. Plus there’s a little museum inside and lots of great artwork on the walls

Cons:

Staff kept coming in my room uninvited. 30 minutes after check-in someone opened the door, no knocking, and saw me naked while I was getting changed. They slammed the door shut immediately but the same thing happened four times where they opened it, saw I was there and shut it without saying anything - a second time I was naked and getting in the shower. When I was supposed to check out at 12 someone also tried to come in and start cleaning the room even though I was still there. When I explained this she apologised and left but it seems she just thought I was here another night and was offering the daily tidy up for guests. Staff shouldn’t come in especially without knocking first.

Very nice !
Pros:

The old part of the hotel is impress, the staff and the dinner were excellent! The lady that runs the restaurant- Victoria- was just the perfect combination of professional service and kindness.

Pros:

Everything about our stay at Pousada Palácio de Estoi was perfect. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive, making us feel welcome from the very first moment.
The atmosphere of the palace is beautiful and relaxing, with stunning surroundings that create a truly special experience. The facilities are excellent, impeccably maintained, and offer a wonderful balance of comfort and elegance.

A treat of a place to stay both inside and outside the hotel.
Pros:

Staff were super friendly, attentive and helpful. The blending of old and contemporary architecture meant the best of both worlds; modern day luxury in the hotel area alongside the highly decorated restored building which housed the restaurant, bar, seating areas, museum and formal gardens. Loved the views from the windows, the privacy we had on our terrace, the pool area, the breakfast terrace where we ate breakfast outside at the start of January! Breakfasts were amazing.

Cons:

We stayed for five nights and felt we could have used a bit more flexibility with evening eating options after three evenings in the restaurant. We did find an excellent local restaurant.

Foi boa, mas para um hotel de 5 estrelas esperava mais.
Pros:

Adorei o palácio, a decoração, os jardins, a suite enorme e o pequeno almoço maravilhoso.

Cons:

A piscina interior é muito pequena, não há jacuzzi, o ginásio também é pequeno, não há muitos serviços dentro do hotel para usufruir, como jogos etc

Unique and charming hotel.
Pros:

Beautiful historic building, took plenty of pictures inside and of the grounds outside. Clean room and comfortable bed, top notch breakfast buffet. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

A bit of a walk through the old building to our room located in the newer section of the hotel, but easily manageable. Also, the property is a bit out of town so not really walking distance to anything. They have a nice restaurant and also a small bar that’s open late, so no real need to go out anyway.

Mycket vackert palats med fin trädgård. Vacker interiör. Fräscha och rena rum. God frukost.

Cons:

Inte så snabb och professionell service i restaurangen till middagen. Maten var okej god men inte högsta klass.

Der Aufenthalt in angenehmer Atmosphäre hat uns gut gefallen.
Pros:

Das Zimmer war sauber und geräumig.
Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und umfangreich.
Essen im Restaurant und Snacks an der Bar waren qualitativ gut. Der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich.
Pool und Spa waren in gutem Zustand.

Cons:

Das Angebot an gängigen deutschsprachigen TV-Sendern hat komplett gefehlt.
Im Badezimmer hat die Ent-/Belüftung nicht funktioniert. Das gleiche trifft für weitere Zimmer unser Mitreisenden zu.
Der Garten vor allen Balkonen war ungepflegt.
Die WLAN Verbindung in den Zimmern war zeitweise nicht verfügbar.
