It was a very nice and restful environment. Looking out over the lake at sunset was amazing. The staff was amazing and helped us book an amazing safari in the Kafue National Park. The food was amazing and the pool was great for cooling down in the hot afternoons.
Getting to the property from Lusaka was a bit far and some of the road was gravel and a little hard to get to.
De mooie locatie en de prachtige authentieke Afrikaanse decoratie
Er waren iets minder mensen dus activiteiten waren niet altijd mogelijk
very tasty bacon and sausage. beautiful like side walks
the internet was very bad. Small details like hand towel in the bathroom
Food was expensive. K300 for chicken and Nshima
The place is so beautiful and peaceful! We loved it! We got tasty and good food. Enjoyed the sunset in the evening.
One thing I am curious to know...at the booking.com site says about location that it is 1.2 kilometres from the centre. When I made the reservation I thought that it was the centre of Kafue..but it wasn't . So what is this 1.2 kilometers an what centre?
Breakfast was great, location exceptional, liked the quietness
The twin room , which we had requested for, did not meet the requirement...no aircon, no sidelamp.
The reception from Christabel was very welcoming. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The electricity was intermittent (a problem all over Zambia due to Kariba Hydroelectric generation only being 10% capacity due to drought). David in the bar was very good at communicating and knowing I like a cool Castle beer, he had an ample supply in the fridge. The view across the lake is spectacular, seeing the fishermen in the morning. This is a classic Safari Lodge in the Old Style with billowing breezes in the evening and beautiful wood carvings throughout the property. Paintings and crafts by local artisans cover the walls of the public areas and each room. The entrance to Kafue National Park is 2 km away. Elephants , monkeys and Impala roam the property and there is a delightful harmony with nature. There is nothing ostentatious about the property, no TV's blaring, no loud music, nature does it all.
The intermittent electricity meant the fans did not always function and phone charging could be a problem. From the website it is not clear how much a stay will cost. We never received a breakdown of the costs of food and drinks for our 3 day visit. There seemed to be 3 different charges and Plans 1. International + full breakfast 2. International + continental breakfast. 3. National rates and plans. We were told we had only paid for a Continental Breakfast when we arrived, but then we were told we could have a Full English Breakfast and that our Plan included Dinner each night. In fact I believe we paid for dinners. This was somewhat confusing and should be clarified. Letting visitors know what is included and Not Included would be better
The lodge was fantastic. It overlooks the Itezhi Tezhi reservoir. The staff was fantastic. Food was great and it was a great stay!
To me, the friendliness of and support by the staff was outstanding. Given the limitations of the property, the stay was a real pleasure.
The outdoor furniture and the fact that it overlooks the reservoir
Nothing really
Musungwa Safari Lodge is paradise.
Beautiful scenery, Itezhi tezhi - enchanting sunset with the lake, pleasant and quiet environment, it is a remote area in Zambia, the environment is not polluted and it is a good place, but it is far away, the accommodation - the building is old and worn, but the sincerity They do offer room service, I stayed there for 7 days and it was really nice and comfortable. This is a place I would like to stay again if I get the chance. I paid for the accommodation with a credit card.
Musungwa Safari Lodge is also in the remotest part of Zambia.
I went from Livingstone to Musungwa Safari Lodge and back to Livingstone. I fell into the sand. Musungwa Safari Lodge needs detailed information on the route. Google Maps showed the route, but it was not the right route.
Superb location overlooking the lake with an excellent pool. Accomodation and restaurant/bar very good. Staff excellent. right next to the park gate.
A liitle unprepared for our late arrival.
Beautiful location, luxurious feel. Wild animals running around. Great facilities.
Some staff were tips and commission obsessed.
Lovely rooms, very nice staff.
Exceptional place. The location is right beside the lake and extremely beautiful. Fair rates for all activities. The food was excellent.
The WiFi is a little weak and only available around the reception. The bathrooms seemed a little outdated, still clean though.
