Place, atmosphere
Location was good; quiet; cute. Staff were great. Close to ferry and good food. Away from the hub-bub of East Bank.
A bit old and run down and the room smelled a bit of sewerage, but it was ok. I only slept and showered there so it didn’t really bother me.
This was an acceptable low cost place to sleep for a long layover.
It was very dusty in the room. The toilet did not have enough pressure to flush solids.
The staff is outgoing and very firendly.
The rooms are big and clean.
The possibility to pay by card or in cash (EGP, USD, EUR), as well as to conduct payment at any suitable time (not necessarily immediately upon arrival).
The location is rather quiet and safe, very close to the tourist attractions and Nile river.
Breakfasts can be taken away in case of early departure, their time can also be negotiated; a parking slot is also present.
Definitely worth staying! :)
Very safe and a calm oasis from the excitement of Luxor and Thebes. Great courtyard area that has a mix of sun and shade to relax in. Located off the Main Street on the West Bank so a nice hum of activity but relaxing. Family run business so I felt like a member of the family and wider community for my stay. Highly recommend for especially for solo travelers.
Looking forward to seeing the upcoming guesthouse developments such as rooftop area. Wi-Fi is a wee bit slow but that’s Egypt. Morning cockerel calls are endearing.
location is just neighboring to the public ferry. the manager Josef is quite good, his father is also very helpful, breakfast is traditional Egyptian style and very yummy, made by his mother.
during our stay, we had some bathroom sewage problem.
Calm and peaceful
No breakfast available.
Good breakfast and lunch included in price, I loved the vegetables musaka. The owners are nice people, not pushy to sell you anything as usual, the restaurant garden is nice place to sit and rest.
The room was nice but a bit cold, there is no heating and I was staying in the coldest period of the year.
Nice, spacious and clean room, and a beautiful breakfast/restaurant area. The personal was very friendly and helpful in making our stay more enjoyable, as well as organizing tours and day activities. Also, the breakfast and dinner were very good. We felt welcomed and had an amazing stay
Location is great if you want a quiet stay in Luxor, very close to the public ferry and you can rent a bike from nearby store. It’s a great value for money and the room was very comfortable!
The toilet was quiet small and needed some care
Stayed 4 nights half board at this family run guest house. The house was on the westside of the river Nile. Much quitter, less hustle and bustle.
Having phoned the guest house of my arrival time the day before, Ayub kindly picked me up from the ferry port which I crossed from the Eastside. The guest house was 10 mins walk away and easy to get to.
Ayub was the person who looked after me. Served delicious breakfast and tasty dinner. He was friendly, knowledge and the 1st person of contact if you needed help or if there was a problem.
The.room was comfortable with air condition, a balcony and ensuite.
One of evening I was offered to have a meal at their restaurant located by the river which I accepted. Thanks to Adam (brother of Ayub) for looking after me. I also want to thank their mum on the odd occasion serving me breakfast. I highly recommend Sunflower Guest House for its welcoming pickup from the ferry port, it's quietness location, helpful family and I felt home.
Having travelled through Egypt the previous week, I had forgotten that the payment was to be made at the guest house. And remember payment is in dollars or English pounds and not Egyptian pounds.
I booked this room for one night but ended up staying for longer. I don’t know what’s the secret in that room but I slept for 12 hours 😴 I usually sleep for 7-8 hours but here I slept like a baby. It’s really safe especially for families and solo travelers, they close doors at 11 pm.
WiFi is fast.
There is no lockbox in the room but I really felt I can keep my valuable belongings anywhere in the room.
it’s good the owner itself welcome me and his old and a wide man
only there’s alive cockroach i found
People who own and work at the place are amazing.
Exceptional value for the price.
Location: very convenient for exploring the west bank temples as well as the East bank (5 mins walk to the ferry)
Rooms: very comfortable beds and clean room. The facilities are quite new. There's a big garden.
Staff: It's a family guest house; the host Ahmed was not there most of the time; his father was managing the place instead. They are mostly friendly but oftentimes (especially early mornings) there's nobody available.
