We loved Hótel Flatey. We had a delightful little room, with a lovely view and were very comfortable. We were met at the ferry and our luggage taken for us so we were free to wander the coastal path to the hotel without worrying about carrying bags. Every member of staff we met was friendly and super-helpful. The restaurant was excellent and we loved the honesty bar for afternoon drinks. A great deal of time was spent sitting at the balcony tables in the sunshine watching the world go by.... it was a truly relaxing couple of days. We will definitely come back!!
There was absolutely nothing about the hotel or our stay there that we didn´t like - other than the fact that we should have booked more nights!!
Unbelievable experience and lovely staff, a harmonious place in a world of its own. Recommend 10/10, completely worth spending a couple of nights there.
Beautiful boutic hotel. The food was exslent.
We had ocean catfish which was perfectly cooked and elegantly presented. The waiters were very attentive. Our room was excellent.
The island is very peaceful with a lot of birdlife.
even has puffin.
The painted church ceiling is masterfully done.
This is a dream place to have a vacation.
The staff was amazing, treat you like your best friends. The food fantastic. The island is so amazing and special.
Stayed to short!!

Not sure words can describe the feeling of staying at this hotel in this magical place. Excellent stay in all regards, the hospitality was second to none. Highly recommend if you can get out there!
This is a gem of a hotel. Food, drink and service were first rate. The hotel is managed and staffed by friendly, kind and helpful people. Excellent nearby bird photography opportunities. Wonderful entertainment. A relaxing and magical place overall. Hótel is also filled with thoughtful touches.
Nothing
Such a charming place, to rest after a long around the island road teip
Owner very friendly amd relaxed made our stay very pleasant
We overnighted at Hotel Flatey on our way across to Snaefellsnes Peninsula from the north. The staff at the hotel were absolutely delightful and couldn't have been friendlier. The hotel has two buildings with rooms, all have shared bathroom. The rooms are very clean, however quite small. The old timber building is beautifully renovated, the restaurant serves delicious food. It is certainly a unique experience to do this stop during the summertime.
Rooms are small and the walls are very thin, meaning toilet and bathroom noises can be heard if your room is next door. WiFi is poor outside of the cafe/restaurant Aside from the tables at the cafe, there is no 'lounge' area per se, although if the weather is nice there is outdoor seating. The restaurant is understandably expensive.
Everything was incredible - location; experience; food; staff (Lilian!!!). Really an amazing experience.
I wish I could have spent more time there.
Staying at a comfortable nice hotel in this unic island is exceptional. Recommend highly.
