Un lieu tout simplement à couper le souffle. Un écrin entre la jungle et la plage. La nourriture y est divine. Daniela était aux petits soins avec nous. La balade dans la jungle proposée par l'hotel est fantastique, le guide passionnant. Nous avons adoré le fait qu'il y ait différents endroits pour admirer la vue et d'autres endroits pour se rassembler (notamment au moment des repas que nous prenons tous ensemble). C'était un moment hors du temps.
L'hotel reste malgré tout très cher, bien qu'il s'agisse d'une pension complète. Mais cela vaut le coup de vivre l'expérience une ou deux nuits.
Notre chambre était la plus proche de la mer, le cadre était fabuleux. Cependant, il est à noter qu'il ne faut pas avoir le sommeil léger car le bruit des vagues est très fort. Mais si ce n'est pas le cas, c'est une expérience incroyable.
A noter aussi, qu'il s'agit de la chambre la plus humide.

Le personnel est très agréable et aux petits soins. Les repas étaient excellents et copieux. Le cadre est exceptionnel, le lieu est idyllique, c'est un véritable paradis sur terre ! De supers activités sont proposées. La maison est vraiment cosy avec de supers espaces communs qui ont fait notre bonheur pendant 5 jours. La chambre était propre, agréable. Je recommande à 100%. J'étais déjà allé dans le Choco mais dans un autre lodge à côté et j'ai mille fois préféré celui-là !

The food was good and healthy - fish was the only protein served. The surroundings of the hotel were nice, and the view from the main area (not the rooms) was good too.
Daniela was nice and helpful.
You have to eat together with the people who run the hotel and the other guests. The staff was not very nice and it did not give a good vibe, which made it awkward. It was fine the first time, but after two days you just want to have lunch with the people that you are travelling with.
The facilities are not good for what you pay. There was no hot water in the room. The shower was essentially a pipe that poured water over you. There was no electricity in the room beyond the lights, so you have to charge all your electrical equipment in the common areas. There was also no place to leave your clothes. In addition, the clothes do not dry properly as the air is very humid, and the hotel does not have any way of drying them (or so we were told). This meant that a lot of our clothes now smell like mold. There’s no air conditioning in the room.
There were not many activities to do in the hotel or in the surroundings (its true that we did not go during the whale watching season). The hotel recommended us to go to termales, which are these hotsprings one hour away by foot. They were okay but nothing amazing. They also recommended doing a viche tour - a local alcoholic drink. When we arrived, the guy did not want to do the tour because he was tired, so we just had a tasting, which was half an hour (we had to walk there for 1 hour by foot). This is not the hotel’s fault per se, but the activities are just not that great in the area. There was also the possibility of doing a tour in the jungle, which we did not do because we left early. There was also the possibility of of doing diving, but we could not do it because we didn’t have the certificate.
The beaches around the hotel were good, long, and without many people. But it was full of plastic! See photos. It seemed like no one had cleaned the beach in months. It killed the vibe.
The accommodation was absolutely marvellous.

The team starting with Daniela was exceptional. The two cheffes were lovely and food was really good.
Easy to go do the other activities (releasing turtles if you’re lucky, thermals, etc …)

this is a magical place. it you are looking for an outstanding experience in the nature and with warm hearted people you will be happy here. the food was amazing and you will eat with the few other guests of the hotel and the hotel owner joins you sometimes as well. it is a very peaceful and chilled place & atmosphere. the perfect weather conditions if you like to be in the wild, the sound of birds, waves, rain & thunderstorm.

The location is perfect, feeling really privileged to enjoy such a preserved area! Nico and his team make everything to feel you welcome and giving you tips to enjoy the area depending on what you’d like to do.
The hotel recently open but already has great equipment (outdoor place with many individual or collective hammocks to enjoy the view, WiFi).
Food is excellent and served by a great smiling team. A plus could be to have the possibility to order more if you still feel hungry.
