Personnel très sympathique et gentil, chambre confortable mais pas de fenêtre sur l’extérieur car située au centre de l’immeuble. Petit déjeuner très léger. Restaurant à midi excellent.

The location is close to the main square.
Beds are comfortable and enough blankets are provided. There was even a heater in the room available but we didn't need it.
The hot water was working perfectly fine and the shower had good pressure
The breakfast was not great, the bread was really dry.
The room was not very clean.
When we showed up at the reception for checkout at 9am (official check out time) nobody was available at the reception. We wanted to store our bags so it was important to have the checkout handled by an employee that could help us with the bags. After waiting for 20 mins and ringing the bell repeatedly and even trying to message them via booking we could not wait any longer and just left the keys behind. This meant we had to carry our luggage with us. In a message they later told us that nobody was available at the reception because all employees were busy preparing the lunch buffet. The dining room is right next to the reception and someone should have heard and reacted to our repeated ringing and took 2 minutes to check us out. That nobody has time for the reception at CHECKOUT TIME at a hotel goes to show how little sense of customer service there is.
Struttura essenziale ma ben curata, personale gentile e disponibile. Ristorante interno buono. In camera, quando siamo arrivati, non c’era l’acqua calda, ma una volta comunicato alla reception hanno risolto immediatamente.

Disponiblità della sola colazione occidentale, ma sono gusti personali e non una problematica della struttura.

Nous avons dîné sur place car nous étions fatigués … ce n’est pas de la grande cuisine et ça dépanne quand on a pas envie de bouger.
Petit déjeuner correct sans plus comme un peu tous les petits déjeuner au Pérou.
Ils ont gardé nos valises pendant 2 jours le temps d’aller faire le treck de Colca.

Friendly, helpful staff. More modern building. Relatively quiet location, only 5-10 mins walk to main square. Clean, quiet spacious room, with a column heater! Good hot water once it arrived. Wifi OK when it worked. Usual breakfast: juice, egg, bread, jam, tea/coffee. Hot water for tea from 5-9pm. Restaurant caters to day trippers and offers lunch. I'd stay again. Chivay town has enough of interest for a half or full day. The canyon beyond is great.
I went to Chivay on a day bus because I didn't want to get up at 3am for a day tour from Arequipa or do the 2 day tour. I ended up joining the 3am tour in Chivay at a more civilised hour. With hindsight, I'd probably take more time and just use public transport in the canyon or stay further up the canyon (beyond the 70 soles entry point). All the tours seem coordinated so people can join the 13:00 bus from Chivay to Puno (which is a good trip).
My room was near a billiard table but fortunately it was not a noise problem. Usual noises from 5 am, otherwise quiet. Bathroom had a musty smell, that was particularly strong after using the shower. Might have been the drain. Internet was highly variable, maybe worked only 50% of the time. Issue was probably in the outside network.

Acqua calda durata meno di 1 minuto. Fatto presente alla tipa della reception che ha detto che funzionava e che bisognava aspettare un po'. Mai più tornata neanche dopo mezz'ora.
