Reasonably priced, friendly staff and good gym and spa. Restaurant was a bullet dodged it seems.
Pros:

Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Gym was well equipped but a little too full i.e. too much equipment for the size of the room. Spa was good although didn't use the pool, but did use steam room and sauna. The green room policy of rewarding with a drink vouchers if you didn't want your room made up was a very good idea.

Cons:

Parking was expensive £25 per day given we were parking at the hotel but no other option. Bar staff - some were good at least one seemed they wanted to be elsewhere and wasn't totally aware of all choices of mixers etc. Didn't eat there as reviews we had seen weren't encouraging and menu didn't excite us. It seems on Valentines night they had real problems with very long delays taking orders and then meals taking hours to serve. Found some good places to eat in Rochester.

Pros:

My first room i was allocated had not been cleaned, so when I reported this to staff on reception. There immediately apologised and upgraded my room. Very apologetic. They were upset that the hotel had failed in providing a good service.

Cons:

Room was very warm. When opening the windows I was able to hear the traffic. I live in the country so wasn't used to the sound found it difficult to sleep

Pros:

Staff where lovely, hotel was clean

Cons:

Room was dated, the tv kept turning itself on in the night and displayed a message but woke me up a few times and difficult to get back to sleep. The drinks in the bar are expensive and they add 10% charge on everything including drinks at the bar, you can ask for it to be removed but in my opinion it should be be added at all and people should make the decision to add a tip.

Very Disappointed, False advertisement from Hotel and booking.com
Pros:

The staff were very attentive when we had issues with our room and stay. There was one lovely girl on reception who was very caring and sweet about the situation considering it was valentines , and all other rooms were fully booked.

Bed was comfortable

Cons:

The hotel is not worthy of a 4 star rating as the rooms are old and in bad condition, I booked a standard double room from booking.com the images provided for the room were ones of the deluxe room so I was mislead by false advertising, once checked in, the room was left used the tea and coffee utensils were not restocked or clean , the room had mould in areas and the bathroom had a broken toilet seat, dirty bath as well as ripped furniture in room , I have images to prove.

We were able to have a room change at no extra charge and were given the option to have 2 free drinks from bar or breakfast in the morning for the inconvenience, so we chose breakfast however when we went to eat at around 9am there was hardly any food it was like scraps and very undercooked.
Really wouldn’t recommend this hotel & spa , especially if your planning a romantic break

For 120 pounds! This is completely unacceptable.

We are extremely disappointed and are expecting a full refund through booking.com!!

Pros:

the room was a good size and the spa and lounge is really nice.

Cons:

The bed was really not very comfortable at all, my neck and back is hurting a lot from the bed and the pillows were too squashed. The breakfast was okay but it didn't feel like the ingredients were fresh. The mushrooms are always very shriveled up and gritty. I've been here a few times and I've had the same experiences.

The hotel bar always has the best food the restaurant food is not as good. The menu is very limited I'm a vegetarian and there's one option for a vegetarian and it's not very nice option. The service in the restaurant is also very slow.

Comfortable stay easy to find on the SatNav.
Pros:

Room was a good size with a comfortable bed. My wife and I were attending a funeral reception and staying overnight. Good parking facilities. Bar food looked good.

Cons:

Tv controls are not at all easy to understand we gave up! The buffet laid on for the reception we attended was bland and not very inviting. Personally found the bar prices on the high side.
