Salama and Mbuyubi was paradise, beautiful, clean and the team is very friendly.
Pros:

This place is paradise. The garden area and rooms are very beautiful, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay there very much. The food is delicious and the breakfast wonderful. The team is extremely friendly and helpful and we loved staying at Salama and Mbuyubi very much. Matemwe was a great place, calm and relaxing.

A découvrir absolument
Pros:

Accueil exceptionnel par les patrons espagnol , d’une gentillesse et d’une bienveillance incroyable . Leurs employés sont également très gentils ,on se sent comme à la maison . Le lieu est magnifique et très original . Cela ressemble à un petit hameau , avec 3 piscines au total et différente ambiance . Excellent petit déjeuner ( le meilleur que l’on ai eu à zanzibar) , la cuisine est également excellente et varié . Et le plus est le cours de yoga gratuit le matin fait par l’hôte. La magnifique plage de Matemwe est à environ 7 minutes à pied . Une très belle adresse à découvrir .

Séjour parfait dans un havre de bien être!
Pros:

L’établissement et son incroyable jardin sont magnifiques, les espaces invitent à la detente et au bien être, les piscines les jeux le coin bar sont juste super. La décoration est superbe, les chambres disposent de tout le confort. Et le personnel est adorable tout le monde est aux petits soins et a fait rendu notre séjour parfait. (les enfants ont adoré les chats!) ASANTE SANA!

Adresse exceptionnelle à ne pas manquer à Matemwe.
Pros:

Allez-y ! C’est un endroit magnifique doté de 3 piscines toutes pourvues de lits de plage confortables : une peu profonde idéale pour les enfants, une moyenne et une grande de belle profondeur. Les plantes et les arbres partout présents constituent un splendide jardin. Les bâtiments sont très esthétiques et spacieux, construits pour permettre une ventilation naturelle complétée par des ventilateurs électriques. Petit-déjeuner, restauration et boissons sont de très bon niveau. 25 personnes travaillent discrètement et efficacement pour votre bien-être. Maria et Paco, qui dirigent l’établissement, sont très attentifs à allier environnement, esthétique et confort des hôtes. Le directeur des relations avec la clientèle, Saleh, nous a emmenés visiter gratuitement le village traditionnel et nous a expliqué la vie quotidienne et les valeurs de ses habitants. N’oubliez pas de lui laisser un pourboire, s’il vous plaît. Grâce à Salma et sa collègue de la réception, nous en avons appris davantage sur la réalité de la vie à Zanzibar. Merci à elles deux. On nous a prêté des vélos pour aller voir la criée aux poissons, à ne pas manquer quand la marée est assez haute pour que les pêcheurs accostent. Renseignez-vous sur l'horaire du jour car les enchères ne durent pas longtemps et demandez la permission de prendre des photos.

Cons:

Nous aurions aimé un éclairage intérieur plus intense, mais cela est sans doute dû à la philosophie de l’établissement.

wie ein zweites Zuhause 😎

Wir haben im Salama & Mbuyuni Bungalows eine ganz besondere Zeit verbracht – und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
Schon bei der Ankunft fühlt man sich willkommen. Paco und Maria sind unglaublich herzliche Gastgeber. Man merkt sofort, wie viel Leidenschaft und Liebe sie in diesen Ort stecken. Es ist keine anonyme Hotelanlage, sondern ein Platz mit Seele.
Die Anlage selbst ist wunderschön – grosszügig, gepflegt und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Überall gibt es kleine, stimmige Ecken, die zum Verweilen einladen. Man kann richtig abschalten und zur Ruhe kommen.
Unser Zimmer war top: sehr sauber, gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Alles war durchdacht, ohne überladen zu wirken – einfach ein Ort, an dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt.
Auch kulinarisch waren wir begeistert. Das Essen ist vielfältig, frisch und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Es gibt eine tolle Auswahl, sodass wirklich jeder etwas findet – und gleichzeitig entdeckt man neue, spannende Geschmäcker. Die Drinks sind ebenfalls grossartig, perfekt gemixt und ideal für einen entspannten Abend am Strand.
Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das gesamte Team. Alle sind freundlich, aufmerksam und immer hilfsbereit, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Man fühlt sich rundum gut betreut.
Ein echtes Highlight waren die besonderen Abende mit Live-Musik und die Massai-Show – das waren unvergessliche Erlebnisse in einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre.
Für uns ist dieser Ort der perfekte Platz zum Entspannen und gleichzeitig ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um die Insel zu erkunden.
Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit und sind mit ganz vielen schönen Erinnerungen nach Hause geflogen. Beim nächsten Besuch wird es sich sicher anfühlen wie ein Wiederkommen in ein kleines zweites Zuhause.
Vielen Dank für alles – wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf ein Wiedersehen. 🌴✨

L'endroit est un havre de paix au milieu d'un petit village tranquille.

Pros:

L’endroit est complètement incroyable ! Les propriétaires sont très aidants et tout le personnel est très gentil. Ils nous ont organisé une sortie de snorkeling avec un guide local. Les repas sont délicieux et les chambres sont spacieuses. C’est un oasis !

Relaxing Rustic Fun Place to Stay
Pros:

We just loved this little oasis.
It was a perfect place to unwind after a hectic few months.
Zanzibar itself is not a typical beach and swim vacation, so if you are looking for local colour to explore and wildly beautiful beaches... not always swimable and trips to incredible places where you can enjoy a long swim beyond your wildest dreams in crystal clear sea, this is a lovely place to stay as a base. We found the stay reasonably priced for what you get for your money and does eat too heavily into your budget for doing other things - whilst feeling relaxing, with a personal touch.
Maria and Paco are fun hosts and are good at organising local outings to your liking.
We really enjoyed Maria's yoga which was tailored to our very non flexible bodily needs and left us feeling yoga could be enjoyable and challenging to the right extent - if you have a good teacher.
The staff were lovely and really did their best to please, the gardens are so pretty we didn't do anything much the first week except enjoy the two pools the pretty garden and lovely cocktails and health drinks at the garden bar. ..Breakfast is plentiful and if something is missing we just have to ask and it is quickly replaced.. Maria is looking at making some additions to increase the variety at breakfast.
Rooms were cleaned well daily, and beds were super comfortable and big. The atmosphere is rustic in the rooms and outdoor setting, bathrooms could do with an upgrade in some and I think that is un the pipe-line, but they are clean with plenty of hot water available. Wifi is probably better than average for the island too as they are able to generate their own solar electricity, which means the property is rarely affected by the outages suffered by other hotels on a daily basis on the island... this was a real plus. We enjoyed it so much that when we traveled to another area to split our stay, we ended up canceling it and coming back to Salama. We arrived as holiday guests and left as friends.

Cons:

We are looking forward to the air-con being installed as this would be very pleasant some nights - though not a necessity for most as there are very good mosquito bed nets and nets on the windows so they can be left open.

La beauté des bungalows et du jardin. La propreté. Le professionnalisme et la gentillesse de la réceptionniste et du personnel en général.

Cons:

Tout était très bien. Un mini frigo et une bouilloire dans la chambre ne seraient pas de refus.

Superbe hôtel, atypique qui ne ressemble à aucun autre, façonné par les propriétaires eux-mêmes. L'entretien des extérieurs est impeccable. Le personnel très à l'écoute et les patrons vraiment disponible pour nous aiguiller sur les activités aux alentours. C'est vraiment un hôtel où on se sent à l'aise. Merci pour ce très bon séjour.

This place is a paradise with a beautiful flora.As soon as you enter it, you feel very welcomed and relaxed. It is designed in such a way that you have a lot of privacy if you wish to. It is very clean. The staff is very friendly, smiley and helpful. Breakfast is very healthy but nice. You can also order delicious lunch or dinner ( local food, pasta, pizza, bowl, etc) and drinks. The owners, Maria and Paco, make you feel at home. Such a lovely couple. they are always happy to help or give advice. If you would like to do some excursions, Maria would organise it for you.

We hope to visit the place again.
