Schloss Moosburg Gästehaus

The Castle in Moosburg is one of the most magical and historically thrilling experiences I have ever had. The whole place is breathtaking and filled with an amazing sense of centuries past. The owner of the castle is a very interesting and dear person, meticulous about every detail, with his own peculiar and sharp sense of humour, which I was very fond of. I truly recommend this place to everyone. Great time, great place, amazing breakfast experience!

Wir haben fünf Tage Urlaub auf Schloss Moosburg verbracht und sind absolut begeistert!

​Das gesamte Anwesen versprüht ein unglaublich stilvolles Schlossambiente. Die Zimmer sind groß, sehr sauber und voller Romantik – die perfekt passenden Möbel unterstreichen den historischen Charme ideal, sodass man sich sofort in eine andere Zeit versetzt fühlt.

​Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet: Kein Buffet, sondern jeden Tag ein bisschen anders und mit viel Liebe frisch zubereitet.

​Ein großes Lob gilt auch dem Kastellan, der sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert und uns tolle Ausflugstipps gegeben hat. Ein magischer Ort mit sehr persönlicher Betreuung. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Unique and wonderful experience - what a treat! We enjoyed a spectacular evening, taking in the many activities nearby, and slept great. Then we were surprised by a wonderfully elegant breakfast and a surprise champagne toast to one of us celebrating a birthday. To top it all off, our gracious host gave us a generous tour. We were looking for a special experience, and it was perfect. Thank You!

Wunderbar! Es war ruhig, ein Ort der Stille. Der Burgherr wohnt mit im Schloss und ist sehr nett. Dss Zimmer ist sehr schön in das Schlossgebäude integriert und passt zum Schloss. Ein angrenzender Park mit See läd zum spatzieren ein. Das Frühstück nimmt man in einem Saal mit Kreuzgradgewölbe ein. Der urige Charme wirkt gemütlich und einladend, dies wird noch verstärkt durch den Hausherrn, der das Frühstück frisch zubereitet an den Tisch bringt und die Gäste unterhält.
Leider waren wir nur auf Durchreise. Das nächste Mal sicher länger.

Das Schloss inkl. dem Schlossgarten ist alles sehr gepflegt, sauber und sehr schön ruhig! Das Frühstück in dem wunderschönen Kreuzgewölbe Raum (ehemals Stallung) hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Man wird bewirtet und kann einfach genießen. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen sicherlich wieder! Vielen Dank dafür!!

What an exceptional experience to stay in this castle.

🏰🇦🇹I was looking for an interesting stay between Innsbruck and Graz, and stumbled on a castle stay at Schloss Moosburg.

⚔️This is not a luxury hotel: this is a real castle stay in every sense... and it’s amazing.

A lot of castles in Europe are actually modern, romanticised imitations (Neuschwanstein springs to mind).

Schloss Moosburg isnt: the core of the castle was constructed in the 9th (😲) century, and has connections to the grandson of the Frankish Emperor Charlemagne. It was a real, working castle, and still feels like it. One of the oldest inhabited buildings in Austria: it's a wild experience, sleeping and eating in 1200 years of history.

👏🏻The owner and host Ernst is amazing, and full of knowledge about the region. He's great for a chat, loves the property, and helped us out a great deal. *also speaks good English.

And bonus, when Ernst found out it was my birthday he had the entire breakfast room join with him in song to wish me a happy birthday with a glass of bubbles 🥂
