Being so close to nature
Swimming pool
Attentive and thoughtful restaurant staff
No hairdryer but was loaned one by reception
The accommodation was very dark, cramped and the toilet not separated from the bed really ( just half swing door).
No English spoken by staff
Expensive
Excellent !!
I loved being walking distance to the Palenque site. Taking a colectivo or taxi into town was easy when necessary. The restaurant at the hotel is beautiful and has good food, it's just a little pricey. The staff are friendly and helpful. The A/C in the bedroom worked well. It's extremely peaceful and beautiful, and the howler monkeys are a nice touch (but might not be for everyone).
There's no shop at the hotel and nothing nearby. It would be better to have a guest shop with snacks, bottled drinks, souvenirs. The pool a little rough looking.
The location in the jungle and close to Palenque ruins, toucans, macaws and howler monkeys just outside our door!! The pool is wonderful and the restaurant very good and so convenient!
Nothing
The food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. Prices were reasonable, the service was very friendly and attentive, and there was live music on Saturday evening, which was a great atmosphere.
What we loved most was the location in the middle of the rainforest. We saw many animals right outside our door, including howler monkeys and even a hummingbird. 🌿🐒✨
Although the pyramids are only about a 10-minute walk away, you unfortunately cannot access the entrance directly on foot. Tickets cannot be purchased there — they are only sold at the official ticket office (Taquilla Venta de Boletos Z. A. Palenque), which means you have to travel there first and then return by colectivo.
Unfortunately, the rooms were extremely humid. While they are nicely designed, the moisture made our stay a bit uncomfortable. Once it rained, our clothes did not dry for two days.
We are not entirely sure, but there also seemed to be a bit of mold on the blinds.
The pool was nice overall, but it is quite old and did not seem very well maintained.
Everything!! The location is perfect for visiting Palenque ruins, we could walk there. Loved the pool area and grounds being able to see monkeys, toucans and macaws. The restaurant served delicious meals..
Nothing
When we arrived early evening there was a nice welcome and speedy check in. The receptionist made an effort to translate into english about how to get tickets if we wanted to go to Palenque ruins the next day, which we really appreciated.
There was reliable hot water.
We enjoyed sitting on the terrace and saw some birds and the agouti. The grounds were very nice with a big pool. The restaurant and public spaces were well decorated. We ate in the restaurant all 3 nights as it is not easy to get to anywhere else without transport. The food was decent and not overpriced.
All staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We have very little spanish but they tried their best and we could see that they work hard.
The bathroom was small with little space to put things and nowhere to hang even a towel. Although there was a mosquito screen on the window there were gaps around it and also under the bedroom door. We had a lot of ants in the room. We understand that we are in a natural setting so should expect some bugs but this was too many.
The bed was small and hard with no headboard. There was no comfort in the room. Although we made sure to get a room with AC it was so noisy that we had to turn it off.
Actually, everything was fine.
The outdoor area seemed somewhat forlorn to me; the pool and surroundings couldn't really be used.
Great place, very close to the archeological site. You can feel connection with the nature there.
Staff is not able to speak English, or not willing? Hard to say, but definitely disappointed not to be able to talk to anyone there.
