Outstanding! This hotel goes the extra mile!
Pros:

From start to finished I loved this hotel! Firstly, they allowed me to check in 4 hours before the normal time! Secondly, I was given a Welcome Bag and one of the goodies was a natural insect repellent which came in very useful for my boat trip! Finally, they made me a packed breakfast for my early bus journey!!

What fabulous people!!!

Walking around in magical realism
Pros:

First I want to write about "the city that does not exist" (Gabriel Garcia Marques), Mompox. It's more about the atmosphere than what you're going to do. Time, and what is outside, does not exist. It is a condition. Walk around and enjoy being in Gabi's books, instead of river boat and guiding. Get away from the river, Carrera 1 and overpriced tourist traps. Go where Colombians are! Why the city prioritizes offering pizza and hamburgers, ahead of Garcia Marques and "realismo magico" is completely incomprehensible to me.

I was lucky! The city's carnival, for them, is a wonderful gathering of children and young people's joy, smiles and dancing. I will never forget it.

Hotel Archangelus is a fantastic place to get into the atmosphere of Mompox. Colonial style. High under the roof. Heavy wooden doors. Large ceiling fans. A nice little back garden. Nice people. If you smile, they smile back.

Beautifully restored old house in colonial city.
Pros:

Stylish rooms in an old and beautifullybrestored house, very modern fittings, great AC, friendly staff and perfect location right in the middle of the old colonial city. Great place overall !

A very homely dreamy place.
Pros:

A homely place where one can spend the afternoon siestas on the patio rocking chairs in dreams or a Garcia Marquez novel. But then, "Mompox doesn't exist!"

The staff are very kind and helpful. Manageress Agnes helped me with information and booking of the cienaga tour expeditiously. Housekeeper Celestine prepared a simple hot breakfast for me when I checked-out at 0530h.

Archelangus hotel is just that. Beautiful place with attentive staff and great breakfast
Pros:

I recommend Archelangus hotel to anyone visiting the lovely town of Mompos. It's very central which is very nice. The personnel was remarkable in its helpful ways. The breakfast was stellar and the staff did all they could to make me feel welcome.
