Pros:

When we arrived, we were offered a second hut free of charge because I was with my sister, and he thought it might be nice for us to have seperate rooms. We spent our first day using the freely provided paddle-boards on the beautiful lagoon just a couple steps away from our huts. We read that we could rent snorkelling gear for 5$ a day (pp), when we wanted to go pay, he let us use the equipment free of charge.

The accommodation provides a small selection of free bicycles to use, they aren't the best quality but they were sufficient for getting us into town and back. There is also a free drinking water tap.

On the first day, I suffered pretty severe sunburns, when we asked where we could buy sunburn aftercare like Aloe Vera, he walked into his garden and provided fresh Aloe Vera leaves which helped immensely to reduce the pain.

Overall a very good experience, Matthias was very nice and really cared for his guests.

Cons:

There is no free wifi provided, which isn't the end of the world because we were only there for a couple of days. I have no other negative sides of this accommodation. If you are looking for extreme luxury then this isn't the right place for you, but for the price, this was the best accommodation we could have hoped for during our trip to the Cooks.

Eklige Unterkunft, für das Geld reißt es auch die Lage nicht raus
Pros:

Einzig die Lage am Strand

Cons:

Das gesamte Grundstück ist vermüllt, die Hütten sind heruntergekommen, dreckig und voller Ungeziefer. In meiner Einheit haben sich nachts Mäuse und Geckos ausgetobt.

Amazing
Pros:

I stayed there for 6 nights. It was perfect. I had this wonderful treehouse. With a little kitchen and a balcony.
I love this place, and Matthias has so many good story’s to tell. The Lagoon tour was amazing. Thanks for all

Excelente ubicación para estar en la playa y sunset
Pros:

La ubicación es excelente, ideal para ver la puesta del sol. Hay reposeras y kayak y Paddle board para usar sin ningun tipo de costo. La cama es espaciosa y comoda

We enjoyed our stay but I think if you can put clean fresh linen and mosquito net with fresh clean towels and tea towels
Pros:

The beach was great. I love the outdoor showers.
The beach huts was close to Tava’e. It’s has a bbq area. The cats were friendly. You can use the kayak and the beach has outdoor furniture.

Cons:

You need to give the bedding linen, the mosquito net, towels and tea towels a good proper wash in the washing machine. And spray the place and smoke out the mosquitoes because there were too many. And the toilets needed an air freshener and toilet duck to keep it smelling fresh. Plus hand wash for the wash basin to wash your hands after using the toilet. Two of the huts outdoor showers were exposed though. If the people in the upstairs hut can see you when they look out their kitchen window they can see you in the downstairs shower. If they come down the stairs during the day they can see you having a shower in the end hut. Something to think about. The beach area you need to clean up the rubbish so that the place looks clean.

Magical! We will miss staying at Matriki
Pros:

Great host, great spot. Mateus took us out on the lagoon and it was absolutely beautiful. He took us to beautiful islands and amazing snorkeling spots.

Cons:

The property is right on the beach and has a lovely chilled atmosphere.

Was a highlight of our trip!
Pros:

OK, this may not be for everyone, but we just loved the fresh ocean air wafting through the room, the sound of the waves on the reef, the chickens (even the roosters!), the cats (on the bed!), listening to the rain on the roof, the outdoors shower and the location was totally spectacular! Great value for money, Mateus was a really helpful guy. If you want to stay in a five star resort, ok, this may not be for you...if you want something closer to a a real Cook Islands experience.... book now!

It is a great location, friendly host.
Pros:

The access to the beach and the host was very attentive which was great.

Cons:

Because we had the upstairs lodge, having to walk down steep steps to the shared bathroom was not something I was expecting. Also, any movements in the lodge downstairs had an impact on the upstairs lodge - the noise and also the floor & bed moves/shakes. And each time the downstairs occupants took a shower which was several times during the day, night and sometimes early morning (1.30 and 3am!) - you could hear the shower running. Didn't realize we had to share the toilets - but for the costs - I suppose that was to be expected. Having said all this - I would still stay there again, I would just choose one of the separate villas.

You will feel like a castaway in paradise.
Pros:

Amazing location under the palms in castaway style huts. Snorkelling and beach life is exceptional. Nearby restaurants are also excellent.
The lagoon cruise was the highlight of our visit to the Cook Islands, seeing whales an amazing bonus.

Cons:

The bikes are an excellent idea, but maintenance is proving to be difficult.

Robinson Crusoe Feeling, sehr Basic
Pros:

Wer das ursprüngliche Robinson Crusoe Feeling erleben möchte ist hier genau richtig. Der Strand und die Lage ist super schön. Super Schnorchel Spot. Gut um Sonnenuntergänge zu schauen. Matthias war sehr hilfsbereit und hat mich vom Flughafen abgeholt und auch wieder hingebracht. Die Lagunentour mit ihm kann ich auch empfehlen.

Cons:

Die Hütten sind sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Toilette und Dusche ist außerhalb der Hütte… Toilette ca 20 Meter entfernt. Auch die Liegen am Strand müssten mal erneuert werden. Für 2-3 Nächte ist es ok.
