I liked the beach and the day I left.
Be aware about all those issues:
- stinky bed linen and pillow case ( probably they do one wash every a few months to save money).
- NO WIFII from 9 p.m to 7 a.m ( you won't be able to enjoy a movie in an island with nothing)
- NO hot water ( even if available they keep it off to save money).
- NO decent bicycles ( they are all broken, rusty, not safe at all to ride !!! ) .
The place unfortunately doesn't cover the high price they ask for it. For 4 nights they charged me almost $600.
Tons of mosquitoes, no chance to stay outside without being annoyed. The place of broken coconuts is a cove of insects and I had no chance to go around the island because they don't offer proper bicycles.
You will risk to be stocked in a place for homeless/beggars.
They ruined my holiday in Aiutaki.
Thank God I didn't book their little cruise around the lagoon for $150, because I would have probably lost money and the best of the island.
It was an extremely upsetting experience. Only early 20 yo may enjoy that place, or couples in crisis with the need to feel like Tarzan and Jane to find some pepper in their life.
Great value for the prime location. The property is on the beachfront and the snorkeling in the lagoon right outside the property is amazing. There are paddleboards, snorkel equipment, bikes, etc. available for free to use which is a great benefit.
The bugs are everywhere so make sure you bring bug spray. The back patio on the huts would have been nice to relax on, but there were often too many bugs so we didn't get to enjoy this space much. The beach was slightly better with fewer bugs so would recommend relaxing there. The bikes available to use can be hit or miss if they work or not, but still a great perk nonetheless.
I was impressed with this little beach hut. It was much better than camping.
I had a wonderful solo adventure living on the beach like Robinson Crusoe.
Not for people who need all the creature comforts but I loved it.
We loved the no stress laid back atmosphere . Loved that you can wake up and step into the water basically. Owners were overseas so the couple that looked after the place were easy going and friendly
Na
The location was great - the only good thing going
The room felt and smelt very damp, everything was dirty including all the cutlery and plates. The fan was very dirty and rusty too. Lots of mosquitos due to the rotting coconuts out the back of the room. No hot water for shower - not a biggie considering it’s a warm climate but the window from the room above looked down on to the shower so not very private.
Proximity to the beach
It’s pretty rough and rundown. When we stripped beds black mould all over the bedding.
great location, nice host and good lagoon tour, free drinking water
room was old and basic, wifi costs extra, the roosters are annoying
The property was awesome hidden in amongst the gardens, created a nice private & peaceful place too stay with access to the beautiful lagoon to swim in. Was able to hire a scooter there too nice way to explore the islands
When we arrived, we were offered a second hut free of charge because I was with my sister, and he thought it might be nice for us to have seperate rooms. We spent our first day using the freely provided paddle-boards on the beautiful lagoon just a couple steps away from our huts. We read that we could rent snorkelling gear for 5$ a day (pp), when we wanted to go pay, he let us use the equipment free of charge.
The accommodation provides a small selection of free bicycles to use, they aren't the best quality but they were sufficient for getting us into town and back. There is also a free drinking water tap.
On the first day, I suffered pretty severe sunburns, when we asked where we could buy sunburn aftercare like Aloe Vera, he walked into his garden and provided fresh Aloe Vera leaves which helped immensely to reduce the pain.
Overall a very good experience, Matthias was very nice and really cared for his guests.
There is no free wifi provided, which isn't the end of the world because we were only there for a couple of days. I have no other negative sides of this accommodation. If you are looking for extreme luxury then this isn't the right place for you, but for the price, this was the best accommodation we could have hoped for during our trip to the Cooks.
Einzig die Lage am Strand
Das gesamte Grundstück ist vermüllt, die Hütten sind heruntergekommen, dreckig und voller Ungeziefer. In meiner Einheit haben sich nachts Mäuse und Geckos ausgetobt.
I stayed there for 6 nights. It was perfect. I had this wonderful treehouse. With a little kitchen and a balcony.
I love this place, and Matthias has so many good story’s to tell. The Lagoon tour was amazing. Thanks for all
