Location is very convenient as walking distance to the fabric markets, with many markets close by.
Firstly, when I arrived the hotel would not let me check in as it said I hadn't paid for more than one night even though I had through booking.com, delaying my check in by 2 hours and a costly phone bill having to contact booking.com hotline. Turned out it was an issue with the hotels booking system.
I paid for breakfast through booking.com and they said I didn't but gave it to me in the end as I paid 'too much' on booking.com for room. Breakfast was really average anyway with cooked food sitting it open bowls to go cold.
Minus the admin issues which aren't super uncommon when staying in China (and not speaking the language), the room wasn't the cleanest. It is an older hotel, so bathroom had some moult in grout but things like the towels weren't very soft/new and bedding had marks on it. There was a massage chair in the room that you had to pay to use which seemed like a waste of time. Bed was very hard. Wifi was slow and disconnected often. I was unable to use it to do work as so slow.
Overall, if you want convenience of walking to fabric markets, stay here, but I would recommend staying somewhere nicer and just taking a taxi to the markets. This is what I will be doing next time. Guangzhou isn't a huge city like others in China so you could stay somewhere nicer and take a 15-20 minute taxi instead of a 10-15 minute walk to the main market.
Large room
No bidet in the toilet. Need to install the bidet.
Housekeeping staff did not follow instructions of ‘no disturb’ sign
Housekeeping staff very rude and using very bad words to swear to me
Price
Cockroach came out as I was getting cafe at breakfast.
Proximity to Zhongda Textile Market
Breakfast menu was very limited
Location close to fabric market
No English , no water at breakfast
This is a Chinese hotel, Not a American branded one. Its super comfortable. Right in the middle of the textiles district. Close to Canton fair and downtown. Staff speak a little English and google translate does the job. Rooms are really big by western standards. Rooms are clean
Breakfast is average by western standards but the foods fine, it wont kill you and its cheap. Enjoy it for what it is. Starbucks is across the road if you need your Decaf, Soy Mocha Latte
Room space & bathroom facilities
international language.
Foods was not up to the mark as Muslims.
Very spacious Rooms
The hotel is in the heart of the city and near major textile traders, so it's great if you are in Guangzhou for textile purchase or research. Just across the street is KFC, McDonald's, and Starbucks. I could grab a bite any time of the day effortlessly
Rooms are very big and they come in and do cleaning everyday to ensure the quality of our stay.
Staffs are really friendly, was able to get a lot of interesting information from them, like where to eat and visit.
The staff could be more proactive and learn basic english :(
Great
No English
Not able to take dollars but only Chinese currency
No official hotel pick up r drop off
The language is a big problem in the Hotel as people don't speak and understand English at all.
for any of my request I had to make them speak/understand them 3-4 times over translator app also. Then at the check in the reception guys asked me that I need to pay for the room charges where as it was a pre paid room from my card. That was a headache to make them explain that room charges are pre paid. They kept on telling me that the pre payment made was for the room security and not for the room charges. I was really surprise to see this kind of a staff standing for the check in where they don't know that no hotel charges for any type of room security before hand and that is always paid at the reception at the time of check in (if required by any property).
The location is too far from any means of transport specially for Metro or Taxi services. The Hotel had kept shuttle service for the canton fair which was communicated to all people that last shuttle leaving hotel is at 9 am where as when I reached the shuttle area at 8.50 am the bus has left at 8.40 am as per Hotel staff.
Hotel rooms are so spacious and clean. .
The foreign language they can't speak
Most of the staff cannot speak English. This was an issue sometimes
