Whenever I’m in northern Door County, I choose the Elliison!
Pros:

The Ellison is the perfect hotel in my opinion. Small, independent, beautiful location, well-priced, friendly staff, no frills, casual—in fact, if the Ellison doesn’t have it, you don’t need it.

Cons:

It could have been free, I guess.

This is a great jumping off point for exploring Door County and having a few drinks in the evening.
Pros:

The attached bar was a nice bonus. The staff that worked there were very pleasant and accommodating.

Location - close to city but out a bit so quiet. Views, friendly staff and clean rooms.

Very neat little spot to lay your head.
Pros:

This inn is centrally located to most activities in northern Door County. The check in/out process was smooth; I received timely text messages from them with all the details I needed. The room was clean. The 50s decor is great! There is a water machine, and coffee is available in the AM.

Cons:

The bed was very uncomfortable "for me". It may be perfect for anyone else.
The room was too dim for me, even with all the lights on. It would be just fine if you enjoy a soft lit space and dont want to read while sitting on the bed. There were some areas that need light, such as the area near the mini fridge and wall mirror.
