The host was friendly.
The communication with the host was complicated. When we arrived, they did not seem to know we were coming, in spite of our communication through booking.com. I think we were talking with a different family member.
I don't understand some of the bad reviews here. Of course the hotel is not super fancy, but it has everything you need: a comfortable bed, a big shelf, hangers, an unusually big bathroom. There is also an outside sitting area, a kitchen and free drinking water.
The location is perfect, just a couple of meters from the beach, bus stop, shops and restaurants.
The price is unbeatable. The tour to Coiba, that they booked for me, was fantastic.
Also the lady was very nice and organized that her mum was doing the laundry for me (although they normally don't have a laundry service).
I can imagine that the music from the bar might be a problem on weekends. But as I stayed there, the music stopped before 10 and the other day was no music at all.
Location is great! Room is fine for the price. Kitchen area is good.
The location is good, conveniently close to the beach and right next to the starting point for snorkeling and scuba diving tours to Coiba. Additionally, the room is beautifully clean and well-maintained.
The main issue here is the poor management of the property. It's absolutely absurd that, without a fridge in your room, access to the shared kitchen—and the only available fridge—closes at 9 PM. I was shocked to find myself thirsty and had to drive to a store just to buy water for the night! On a 30-degree night, it’s unreasonable to expect guests to go without access to their own chilled water simply because the fridge is locked. This is completely unacceptable and far from what anyone would expect from proper accommodations.
It was in a good location, close to the beach and the restaurants. The staff were really nice and the kitchen area was always tidy
The was no A/C in the room, there was fans but it was still warm in the room, there was some street noise so was a bit noisy at times but not too bad
Teodora is a wonderful host. She organised a boat trip to the island with her brother. Great place.
Helpful staff, helped book a snorkeling the next day. Just next to the drive center.
Confused about where the reception was and had trouble finding staff when we wanted to leave our luggage.
Basic rooms but good value in a central location. I really noticed that the room was spotlessly clean - which was a big thumbs up.
The room was clean and there was a nice terrace to chill in the evening. Shared kitchen was well equipped and also clean. There is a bar underneath the accommodation if you want to have a beer after a trip. Noise from the bar wasn't any problem for our sleep.
No air conditioning only one fan next to the bed and one ceiling fan. Nights were HOT. The kitchen with fridge is locked during the night which would be fine but after first was still locked 3 hours after mentioned opening hours (which is 6 AM). We had prepared breakfest for the trip but couldn't find anyone to open it. Lady on the phone said "uno momento" but the moment took 3 hrs as I mentioned earlier.
Location close to beach (which is ugly)
Lots of small ants all over the bed! Got bitten badly by them and still 10 days later skin irritated. Was disgusting to sleep there. When I told the lady next morning, she just nodded. But no sorry, no refund, nothing. Only a fan, not helping to cool down the room. Bed actually just a mattress on the floor. Way too expensive for what it is.
Next to the beach, boats, dive shops. There's a kitchen to share and low-end and loud bar downstairs. Parking in abundance.
Consider taking a room with AC as those with ocean side view are ventilator only and hot. No hotel service whatsoever . Card payments are charged with tax. No breakfast or meal option. Not much privacy on the ocean side.
The family that own the hotel are so wonderful and kind
