Good location and nice stuff

Location was good. Mr. Usman was exceptional, very cordial.

The view is very exceptional from property and the rooms are very clean

The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. Amazing views with large wall to wall windows and patio. Cozy fireplace lit at night in the common area. Best coffee I had in Sri Lanka.

The staff was very good and friendly. They provided an excellent service. The room was very clean and good. The hotel itself gave a true nuwara eliya/victorian vibe with its thematic furniture. There was a working fireplace which was really cozy as they provided us with coffee and biscuits to enjoy beside the fireplace at night. The breakfast was also really good with good quantity and the view in the morning where we had the breakfast was amazing. It also helped that the place was close to town where we could go out and enjoy.

From even before we arrived, the service was excellent. After making our reservation, we contacted the property to arrange an early breakfast since we were planning a morning hike to Horton Plains. They were fully prepared for it and kept in touch throughout. Early check-in was also accommodated without any hassle.

The view — my God, the view — was absolutely breathtaking. From our room, we could see the mountain ranges, the mist rolling over the hills, and the surrounding farms. It was truly stunning.

The room amenities were great as well. There was good hot water (which is essential in Nuwara Eliya’s cold climate), and everything was neat, clean, and comfortable. The property itself is slightly aged and could use a bit of updating, but it is very well maintained overall.

The staff were extremely polite, hospitable, and helpful throughout our stay.

De eigenaar heeft er moeite in gestopt om het hotel en de kamers een klassieke look (behang, lampen, zitgedeelte met openhaard) te geven. Vanuit de woonkamer / ontbijt zie de de theeplantages en delen van de stad.

I recently enjoyed a delightful one-night stay at Hotel Bonavista, and it was the perfect escape. From the moment I stepped inside, I was utterly charmed. The beautiful interior truly stood out, decorated with exquisite taste that felt wonderfully reminiscent of a classic English manor. Every detail, from the rich textiles to the subtle decor, made the whole place feel incredibly warm and inviting—a truly unique atmosphere!

Despite the weather being cold and quite windy outside, the hotel served as a cozy haven. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, finding the interior comfort and charm made the chilly weather seem irrelevant.

The morning brought another treat: the English breakfast. It was absolutely superb! Everything was fresh and delicious, offering the hearty, authentic experience I was hoping for. It was the perfect start to the day.
