Although we have stayed just one day we recommend the hotel for the late september holiday when the resort is almost empty during the week. Nice views from the windows. Clean rooms and normal breakfast for 3 stars. With 0 degrees outside it was a little cold over the night as they only star opening the heat in the evenings.
Very comfortable, warm and friendly hosts. I only staid for one night this time, but I will definitely return.
The room was very nice, tidy and extremely warm :) I got a room with a view to the sloped.
Good & tasty breakfast
Stayed couple of days for family winter vacation. Hotel is clean, rooms are warm and spacious, free wifi, personnel is kind, breakfast is good, restaurant unexpensive. Nice, wide view (upper floor better). Tradițional, a bit oudated interior decoration. Close to bus station, parking available, ski slopes not far. Taxi drivers frequently ask for extra charge for driving from or to Brasov, but even so, the transport fee doesn't exceed about 20 E. Overall a good impression, fair services for the money.
Nice hotel, nice people, normal food, cleaning every single day. Lots of wide spaces, lovely trimmed grass, great for children. Hotel staff carried our 6 months baby everywhere so we can eat in peace. Felt a bit aquard, we were not expecting this kind of love. Totally recommend!
Upgraded to a Junior Suite which was the size of an average one bed apartment in UK. Furnishings and decor is dated but I liked this. Most importantly the rooms are well heated which is what was needed when it is minus 8 outside. There are 4 skylight windows if you need more ventilation.
The bathrooms are absolutely spotless and the water was always piping hot. Sheets and towels smelt gorgeous.
I think the suite could do with another bin in the main rooms. Also the website stated there would be complimentary slippers and robes but there were not any.
We ate dinner most nights in their a la carte restaurant where the price was great and the food plentiful and well cooked. Special mention to the friendly waiter Toma who told us about the region and history of Romania. He provided excellent service too.
All staff were friendly and accommodating.
We rented a villa for the whole family, did not stay at the actual hotel, it is a new complex of modern buildings with a lovely architecture. Very private, quiet, clean, it has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The view from our windows was amazing, pine forests and mountains, air is crisp. It is a bit remote from the middle of the resort but the whole Poiana Brasov is 1/2 hr walk from one end to another. Beds are good, the only thing out of place is the TV's being like from a garage sale of decrepit electronics. WiFi works well. Parking is tight and the access street is narrow, thankfully there were no other guests there.
was staying at a nearby hotel but spotted the hotel and lovely grounds and play area for kids so stopped on a lovely sunny afternoon. Got a lovely warm welcome which was rare on my holiday. A larger than life man kept us fed and watered for the next few hours none of us wanted to leave especially me. Kids were kept entertained as were we. I was gutted i hadnt seen this hotel when searching but will defintely be back next time we visit Poiana Brasov. Beautiful quiet setting and friendly staff couldnt ask for more. But i think i did leave my Arsenal top there so in fact def will be returning!
The room was very clean, the room service excelent. The restaurant and bar just great. A quiet atmosphere in the middle of the nature. The personnel very professional and friendly. Outside they have a nice place to organise a barbeque with some 10 tables, on the terrace you can invite friends and business colleagues in order to dine. Very good food and wine at low prices.
This is a well located hotel. It's comfortable but might need some renovation.
The hotel was fully booked and we got the last available room which was + - OK.
The Wi-Fi worked well.
Breakfast was very nice with a wide variety and good service.
Currently a rather 3 starts than the display of 5. Great location but the entire place is dated and needs a serious revamp. Reception area, restaurant and the outside area needs a serious rejuvanation. The spot is goergeous and an investment would definetely bring returns. Staff friendly and helpful. It would be nice to see this hotel returned to its glamour days with the Romanian social lite.
We were based 5 nights at Ruia on Poiana doing "star" travels and enjoyed alot stayn at Ruia which have extended rooms, very clean, corteous attention and generous breakfasts, the staff gave pesonal approach.
Nice location but thus hotel need urgently improvements.
First of all I was hitted by the smel of toilet when I was entef in the room. Old furniture that was perhaps good for 4 stars when was open first time the hotel, but now is like you stay in an old grand mom house.
Food enough in the morning but a very limited variety.
Clear, not for the money they are asking for. Too bad because with some effort this hotel can have back the look from the past when was a fantastic good hotel.
Didn't stay here just had a disappointing meal. Nice area for the kids led to our choice but the food was expensive for bland food dressed up to sound interesting and the vegetables were frozen mixed veg, soggy and tasteless.
Good location, but the rooms look like 2,5 stars and furniture is very old. Breakfast was poor. Too expensive for what it offers. The four star rating is just a joke, there is basicly no lobby to hang out and absolutely nothing to do inside the hotel.
We stayed with our cild 1 yr and 6 months. We decided to stay at this hotel because it has a big yard, many things for children to play. This is the only reason that we wanted this hotel.
We had an apt but we are very dessapointed because the apt looks like 3* not 4*.Furniture looks very bad, balcony is very small, bathroom has a shower broke .Water in the shower was not so hot all the time.It was very cold in the apt because outside were 16-17 degree. But the hotel didn't wanted to open the heating:(
Restaurant is great, very good food! Conclusion:Next time I won't come here anymore.
We came for professional reasons and we felt in love with the place. The surroundings are dreamy. The hostess is charming and she will make everything in her power to serve you. They have some mind-blowing rooms. I have never stayed in a presidential room and my room looked like I was preparing myself for a UN delegation....If youplan summer/winter holiday in this part of the mountain spend a few days at this hotel - you will not regret it....
The hotel is very expensive and I don't think it deserve 4 stars because the furniture in our rooms was old and not entirely functional. The personal is great. We eat at the hotel's restaurant which was cheaper than the others restaurants.
The ski resort town of Poiana Brasov is just outside Brasov. We decided to stay there, since we prefer the quiet (and Brasov is a large city). The Hotel Ruia, like most of the hotels in this town (from what I have heard) is gorgeous! The room was large, with a balcony. We were there in September, and had a great time. Apparently it is busy during the ski season! The restaurant was closed (except for breakfast) due to the low number of people (Sept is off-season), but a short (5 min) walk took you to several restaurants (we did pizza one night and fine-dining the next!)
Great things to see nearby, too.
