Dreamy property with superb views over the infinity pool. Can’t wait to return
Pros:

Absolutely superb. Sorry we only stayed for 3 nights. The quality of finish poolside and in the rooms is top class. The staff were so welcoming and attentive and could not be more helpful.

Cons:

It’s a short walk into Chora but this actually is a major plus. There’s very little light pollution at Avaton so the stargazing is incredible. We stayed in 6 properties in our Greek island trip and this was the best by far.

We had an unforgettable stay at Avaton. Our room was beautifully modern, incredibly spacious, and impeccably clean. The view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking—truly one of the highlights of our trip.

The pool and amenities were top-notch, with stunning surroundings that made it feel like a private paradise. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast, thoughtfully prepared and served with genuine warmth.

The staff went above and beyond—always kind, welcoming, and attentive to every detail.

We absolutely loved our time at Avaton and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Cons:

The staff were extremely condescending. We asked in advance if we could pay extra for a third rollaway bed as I was travelling with two friends for our 30th. One of these friends lives abroad, and we wanted to spend as much time together as possible. We were told it was impossible. To this day I don't understand why as our room was huge, had a sofa bed as well as a double bed in the terrace and of course the bedroom. Regardless, our friend booked her own room in another hotel in chora. During the day and before going out for dinner we were all in our room together. This is where it gets weird...
The manager seemed to think we were her children and would call us repeatedly upon seeing us go into the room asking us intrusive questions like "what hotel is your friend staying at? we need the name" "we just saw you all go into the room together, your friend is not allowed in the room"
When I am paying over 400 euro a night, I should be allowed to do what I want (within reason) in my room. It's not like we played music or made any noise. We were hardly there.
On one occasion, my friend left her towel from her hotel in our room during the day.
The hotel then must have gone through our things and confiscated the towel because "it wasn't the hotels". Another occasion we came back to our room to find a hand written aggressive note on our pillow saying "please return the hotel robe before the end of your stay" - again this note implied we were trying to steal their hotel rooms when in fact, I had accidentally left it by the pool.
The sheets on the bed were not changed everyday which was disappointing as I swear during the night. They even had the audacity to tell me and my friend who booked the hotel that "we are like ghosts, we never see you"... again, we didn't come to Folegandros to sit by a pool we were out exploring the island. This is a very weird thing to say.
