Price and location was good
The room needs some improvements....
The bed was uncomfortable due to an old worn mattress.
The bathroom door couldn't close.
No coffee provided.
The electric supply in the room seemed very questionable.
The pub closed at 8pm rather than the advertised 10pm.
Great location, right in the centre of it all.
The shower was impossible to control. No pressure in the cold water, so always far too hot
There was no breakfast served at the Victoria. The location was ok it was about a 5 to ten minute walk to the seafront/
The security on the exit could have been better. When i returned i found the back entrance, which doubled as the fire exit was unlocked which gave me concerns that it might give a burglar an open invitation. I would have liked to have seen the England v Argentina match in the Bar area but found that it was closed. The only other pub was packed, so i gave up and viewed lying on the bed as there was no chair to sit on.
Location
Mattress
Emergency exit
The generous size of the room, the two armchairs, comfortable bed, a bath.
The saniflo system made repeated grinding noises which seemed to be connected to the bath and basin's drainage. The TV didn't appear to gave been set up fully so we couldn't use it.
No breakfast located good
Nowt
Fantastic location. Free on street parking right outside the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money.
Vibrant
Nothing
The room was large
Hall carpets very poor. Rear fire exit was the entrance and exit after 8pm and to exit in the morning before pub staff arrived. The metal escape stairs and rear yard were filthy.
I wasn't judged and was treated like a value customer and well informed.
I only stayed for one night, I can't make any judgement.
Rooms above the pub, they don’t do breakfast but loads of eateries very close by so not a problem
Staff were lovely and friendly
Need to check the outside lighting on external stairs when I stayed it wasn’t working
Great location. Lovely clean room
We only stayed for 1 night but the staff were friendly when we checked in. As others have mentioned, the exit/entrance after pub closing is out the fire escape and down a metal staircase but that was absolutely no issue at all.
The room was very big, the bed was comfortable enough. The WiFi didn't work but I had mobile signal so that was alright. TV could be bigger but again, not a huge problem.
The toilet does have a mascerator pump which is loud when you flush the loo or use the sink/shower and the shower hose leaks but it works fine.
All in all, it was a perfectly pleasant stay.
Nothing really. The bathroom was a bit dated and the shower hose and screen door leaked but there's nothing overly bad about the stay.
I was staying for a solo trip and my room at The Victoria was absolutely perfect! The room was cosy, the bed was comfortable, the shower was nice and warm. It’s in the ideal location close enough to the seaside, close enough to the supermarket and town. There was ample storage and plenty of space for a single room. I really appreciated the kettle provided and think the TV is neat, although I didn’t get a chance to use it. It was very clean, recently hoovered, the sheets very white and the room itself smelt lovely. I’m also very grateful for the use of the fire escape stairs to provide out of hours access to the property. Everything was explained very clearly to me about the keys, fire escape, pubs open hours and check out. The lady who welcomed me was very friendly and inviting! I really have no complaints and will definitely be returning for all of my future trips to Saltburn!
If I had to nitpick, the shower was definitely on the small side. It was fine for me personally, but could see how it could cause issues for some so keep it in mind!
Location is central. Facilities adequate
Told it opens at noon but not the case. Beds too soft
Comfy, quiet and clean. Rooms are out the way of the pub downstairs and there is a back entrance so you can come and go as you please. Rooms are bug with plenty of space
Nothing it was lovely and really good value
The location was central and therefore fine.
The shower was tiny. The room felt a bit grubby - cracked, dirty windows. Access was via the fire escape and then along a back alley.
