Room was large, warm and very comfortable, with all the normal amenities available. Rachel, a member of staff met us and showed us to our room and explained everything we needed to know about access, room timings, etc. The location of the Victoria was spot on, no more than 100 yards from the railway station or the main road running through Saltburn.
We didn't like having to walk up 2 flights of stairs, but we were informed of this prior to arrival.
Great location. Really helpful staff to show us to our room.
The bed was so uncomfortable. It felt like it would fall apart when you rolled over, the mattress was also incredibly uncomfortable- a new mattress is required!
Location
Stairs
In a good position
Not worth the price. V expensive for quality of the place Peeling wallpaper. Very noisy bathroom. No shower gell. No facilities for breakfast
Friendly staff, good price, good location
Very dated and tired but did the job for what we needed
Nice large warm clean room.
Centrally located.
Lots of stairs to room and having to go down fire escape after hours when pub is closed
the staff and location
cold room cold shower peeling walls old sheets uncomfy bed
The room/bathroom was clean
Very basic, lots of stairs to the room, access and exit via steel fire escape, when pub closed.Portable electric radiator, only form of heating.
Consequently we didn't stay, found alternative accommodation.
It was a HUGE room with the bed at one end and a living room type scenario with chairs around the TV at the other. After a long day of walking the bath was a real bonus (the only hotel on the trip to have a bath). The lady at the bar was very helpful and friendly.
Like pretty much every hotel on my trip, the room was heated by portable heaters. The radiators were off. Because every hotel did this, even the ones with working radiators that were off, there must be some cost savings rationale. The radiators being off meant I couldn't wash and dry clothes.
Great location & really friendly staff. Easy check in & out. Clean, tidy room with great shower and comfortable bed and pillows. Generous sized room. Parking was free and simple considering some street side parking can be difficult. Bonus of having a good pub downstairs too. Will book again.
The steps to exit are a little steep and dark so it could be difficult with bags. The bathroom would benefit from a paint refresh. It was a bit colder than expected in the morning. However none of these points would stop me booking again, just a suggestion for improvement.
The member of staff who greeted us was very friendly and bubbly, there is plenty on street parking but I doubt very much if there would be in warm, spring or summer periods
The room was freezing but did have an electric heater which warmed it up, the downstairs bar was also very cold with a small electric heater that done nothing
