How nice and friendly the staff was in the restaurant/ bar and the breakfast was very tasty and had a very good selection
Staff in the reception area need a little more training in customer service
The pool was nice.
The room was disappointing. Really tired.
The staff were lovely and friendly. The hotel was comfortable and warm. Parking was free and breakfast was great.
I guess the room wasn't very decorated and could have used a couple of pictures. Maybe some net curtains too as the large window was a little exposed.
Rooms very dated
I have stayed at the Sporting Lodge on a regular basis for nearly 5 years now. I have always found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The hotel's breakfasts are a particular favourite of mine.
No reak criticisms for this stay.
It was a nice and quiet environment.
Food was tasty. Housekeeping sorted waterproof bedding and changed when asked. Beds were comfy.
Breakfast was lovely and breakfast staff were.really polite and kind and helpful to my children.
Pool was good for my children.
Noise in the evenings and as the restaurant was also the bar and it had lots of screens for sports it was really loud. Was a wait for the food at tea time.
Bathroom was a bit small and shower temperamental.
The room was as expected, having stayed at the hotel a few years ago. The restaurant staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful, special praise to Darren, who was very good. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom door didn't lock, and sadly, on the second day, the keycard to access the room stopped functioning as the lock had lost charge. The staff helped get into the room, and the door was recharged the following morning.
We had pre-agreed a noon check-out at no charge, as communicated with the staff on Booking.com. On the day of departure, the man at the desk was telling us no, and we are pay the additional charges even though i had shown him the communication. he eventually agreed to it and we paid for an additional hour to leave at 1pm. Id have expected some assistance in this matter, especially after we faced issues with our room door. Additionally, there was no information on the booking that we would have to pay for parking at the hotel, which was £3 per day. its not about the value, it was the fact that we were not made aware of this, when in the past there was no charge. the second night we had issues of inconsiderate people at midnight talking very loudly outside our room door. no staff members to advise them to move and be quiet. we were on the ground floor.
No
Nothing
Friendly and helpful staff,
Good food,
Big bonus for pool and spa
The staff were more than helpful,
Regarding some issues we had.
My husband enjoyed the facilities, ie the pool sauna ect.
The room was very basic, and the room absolutely stank of very strong stale cigerette smoke. I blame this on inconsiderate people who smoke in a non smoking hotel room!!!
Unfortunately my husband uses a sleep pap machine, there wasnt any sockets near the bed & had to ask for an extension lead to plug in on the other side of room which then needed covers for the lead due to health & safety & a trip hazard. There was tea & coffee available but no decaffeinated, maybe this can be rectified with an option of both.
The staff & manageress rectified these issues & where very helpful. But doest take away after a long journey to get there & the inconvenience of
changing rooms a trip back & forth to reception. The room was very basic, a tiny bathroom. In need of a make over which I heard they are doing soon.
Overall the bed and pillows where comfy.
