This place is fantastic! We had a great time here. The house is absolutely beautiful, especially the rooms. This is one of the rare cases where in reality the place looks even better than the pictures. We got to know the owner personally. Him and his staff were very attentive to our needs and always helped even with special requests. The breakfast is fresh and tasty. We ordered food from the menu to our room on more than one occasions and it was delicious every time. And then there is the location of the site. You are in a valley surrounded by high mountains and the view is breathtaking. Far from the noise of the cities, it is nice and quiet and the air is fresh and clean. Yet, the town of Calca is just a short walk away, where you can go to a restaurant, buy this and that at the market or take a taxi to explore one of the many interesting sites nearby, for example the Inca Museum. The only thing left to wish for is not having planned more days to stay at Casa Raiz.

I stayed one night at Casa RAIZ in Calca and absolutely loved it! From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome made us feel right at home. The place is truly a hidden gem – full of charm, comfort, and wonderful vibes. The staff was incredibly attentive, and a special thank you to Carlos who prepared a delicious dinner for us with so much kindness. I only wish we could have stayed longer! We’ll definitely be back for more nights next time to soak in the good energy of this beautiful place.

- the receptionist works afternoon and evening so there was no one at reception in the morning and therefore no one speaking English

Very quite, very friendly stuff, beautiful garden and nice spa with one sauna and one steam bath. It was perfect for having a quick break from traveling.
Prices for food onsite are quite high (~25 USD per dish) and for extra spa activities as well. But one hour of sauna is included (and they‘re not strict about the time) and it‘s not far to go to Calca for some food. So no problem at all.
This is an amazing property with a gorgeous garden, splendid rooms and the most gracious host and staff. We loved our peaceful and beautiful stay here and maybe we will be able to come back one day and stay again in this incredible place.

This place was amazing! The property is really spectacular, food was delicious and the staff were lovely. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. There was a confusion with the spa, but we were well compensated for it. Really special night! Also lovely little touches like complimentary water, some chocolates, a razor…perfect having just climbed Machu!
Wonderful, I can't wait to return. We live locally and just stayed one night as a staycation. This boutique hotel is stunning with so much attention to detail, beautifully cared-for gardens, a stunning swimming pool, and a lovely spa.

I read in advance that there is no restaurant (just breakfast) therefore we prepared in advance, I'd recommend doing that or speaking with the staff before arrival about what could be available because you may not want to leave until check out!
