Authentic hotel to stay at. Beautiful. Note, there is a lot of seaweed so you can’t go in the water. Well you can a little on the left hand side. There are a lot of waves. I saw a couple go to the pier and jumped in for their daily swim. Also, the price for diner or anything you purchase at hotel from spa to food or anything else, it’s US Dollars. The other nearby hotels had Belize prices. I ordered ice cream from Roberts Grove and it was $8 US dollars. Hotel nearby charged. Belize dollars which came out to be $4 in US Dollars. I did not come to Belize to be charged US prices.
The staff! Special Ms Ivett, Nikki, Elder..
Great ocean location, water was warm and service was great!
impeccably well maintained and staffed. Clean and comfortable
Nice place. Clean and neat. Rooms and bath are big. Nice patio or deck. Beds comfy and good pillows. Staff is awesome. Food and drinks very good and reasonable priced. Just a little older place. Ac was ok. Great place to stay for a nite or two.
The property in a whole was okay but it was a little ways away from everything and I didn’t like the fact that when I did make my appt on Expedia they didn’t really explain on the website it was us or bz so I feel that should be something explain more. When I did talk to resort I feel like they should be more helpful by not lying to us about giving us a percentage off and not do anything about it when you get to the resort. When on the phone with the supervisor Kimberly I think that’s her name but I can’t remember. I just figured I was spending a lot of money including another room she could have at least been nice enough to give me some more percentage off like she said she would. She told
Me on the phone that she would have on my room
That I had purchase and when I went to the room
She literally had different explanation to me. When it comes to customer service there should always be great customer service with a great attitude not with things like mam I am helping you and you are not understanding what I am trying to say, you never talk to a customer like that. The other resort staff was very nice especially the young lady that checked me in. She was very sweet and tried helping me in anyway she could. The staff from the bar that night was very respectful.
The staff went out of their way to take care of us! They were friendly and personable.
Good property
Loved how fresh flowers decorated the room!
Excellent location, great sea-view rooms. Good COVID precautions. A comfortable and well-maintained and managed place. Not particularly modern or fancy - but a really wonderful to unwind and relax. Our second vist and will return again. Highly recommend.
Staff very nice.
Not a lot of people. I am afraid still getting back to normal after Covid.
Very clean. Very quiet.
Unfortunate that seaweed was bad
Room was what was expected. Onsite beachside restaurant food was overpriced for what you got and was ok at best, servers super nice but service was slow
Excellent property- fantastic staff! - great free breakfast.
Older resort but very well maintained. Ocean view, very comfortable room. Great service. Nice restaurant and bar and plenty of ice! Easy walking distance to other restaurants and a
Good market. Very nice location and an extra plus if you’re chartering from Sunsail, Moorings or Dream Yacht Charters they are just across the road.
First off the “welcome drink” was hilarious-pineapple & orange juice & grenadine. We questioned the bartender every way possible & there still wasn’t any alcohol offered. So we had a shot of Patron in each one-$25 US. Lesson learned this is not the place to drink-we realize not everyone drinks but seriously-it was a common joke among other guests. I always try to be positive so I commend the staff and service-it was the best & everyone was always ready to help you. The food in the restaurant was also very good. The rooms and grounds were very clean. One thing you have to understand is this isn’t the Hilton so don’t expect those amenities-Robert’s Grove is characteristic of their land. We were disappointed the “3 bars” stated in their description were not operating & we were so looking forward to the bar out on the pier
which wasn’t operating either. The 3 pools are all separated by the buildings. We were looking for a quaint & small resort and it did meet those needs. Despite that fact, it
still needs some “vibes”-a little music playing or something to add some ambience. There was no problem of getting chairs in the beach or pool. Buy a “bottle” at the airport when you get in-Robert’s will give you a bucket of ice. We understand there are some financial issues for this resort & we hope they can pull out of it and step up the atmosphere a little.
It was quiet while we were there and we had the infinity pool to ourselves which was awesome! The rooms and grounds were neat and clean but could use some sprucing up. The staff was nice but did not know all the hotels policies. We chose to supply our own beverages as the bar was expensive and poured a short cocktail.
Location on the beach away from the town. Nice rooms. Service was very poor and the food in the restaurant both at dinner and at breakfast was scant and bad.
Shabby and not shek. No hot water in room, no bar to speak of, 1970’s furniture and fixtures. Pool was freezing, no poolside service. Saw 2 raccoons in daytime climb up restaurant to top rooms. Pretty empty and know i see why. Expedia needs to lower its rating!!
Beautiful location. The rooms were spacious and lovely. Staff was friendly and accommodating!!
I don’t think I’ve ever left a bad hotel review until now, but I feel I should notify future guests about the issues we encountered on our 7yr anniversary so they can stay elsewhere.
To start, they advertise a free airport pickup on Hotels.com, which is a scam. What they offer is free airSTRIP pickup for private small planes. When we booked, we immediately emailed the property with our flight number, but we never heard back despite emailing a few times. We called, and they said they had our flight info, which was United Airlines, so obviously not one of the small planes like Tropic Air that land in Placencia. They said they would be there, but when we called after landing — not only did they ONLY THEN tell us we needed to either take a 3.5hr $300USD+ taxi or a plane, they didn’t help us coordinate it.
Beyond the transportation to the hotel, they boast they have daily shuttles to the main town Placencia (then you pay $10USD to taxi back), yet on New Year’s Eve, they didn’t have one available and failed to tell us until 30mins had passed.
Beyond that, here is a list of other hotel issues not expected for a hotel that costs $300/night in Central America:
- Breakfast low, they said we were only allowed to have two eggs and that you have to get their early for there to be food — warning: They don’t restock!
- No towels, you better ask for beach towels early, if you don’t, they run out. A lord of the flies beach resort with no towels
