Cute and good value for the price
Pros:

The old house is super cute and the courtyard and family room are especially lovely to hang out and unwind in. The host/owner is very kind and friendly, and she even helped us organize a driver for a very early start special request trip to view the sunrise and go for a sunrise swim at a beach on the other side of the island. Overall, the rooms were tidy and contained sufficient amenities, including bed linens, hairdryer, etc. The breakfast was super yummy and different each day. My husband and I had vegetarian options, and my mum really enjoyed trying new and traditional food. The owner/host gave us some special souvenirs when we left, which was a lovely gesture, and she also picked us up and dropped us off at the airport for free. The village around the accommodation is quaint and it’s within walking distance of a wetland area.

Cons:

Before we came, I asked the host/owner if they provide bath towels and she said yes, but when we got there, the towels were just disposable ones. So we had to go and buy some from a Poya in the nearby town. One of the rooms we booked had an awful sewage-like smell in the room and bathroom — so much so that there was no way my mum could sleep in that room. Thankfully, we’d also booked a family room with a loft bed and downstairs bed, so we slept in there one night and the next two nights, the host/owner provided us with a replacement room. Despite the rocky start, we were satisfied with our stay in the end.

Excellent Traditional Inn
Pros:

I really enjoyed my stay in this traditional Kinmen Inn. It was very clean and with excellent facilities, even a washing machine. The host was very generous and kind, and with the help of google translate, very helpful for sightseeing ideas. The location was perfect, central to most things and close to the bridge to Lieyu. Breakfast was good, and different every day. I rented a scooter from the host, and this is the best way to see the islands (you need an international driving permit). There is a lot to see here. I stayed 4 nights, but could have spent 2 more (but I am leisurely at sightseeing, and go into every temple I see). Altogether, I highly recommend Kinmen Islands and Relaxing Inn.

Cons:

Hard to think of anything. The restaurants I went to were a 10 minute scooter ride away. Don't think that there was much within easy walking distance.
