Hermit Retreat

The host are so amazing and they paid attention to every small details and requests that we made. The location is amazing and rooms are very tidy. Do visit the homestay if staying in darjelling.

Everything is fine

This is an exceptionally good homestay, as the reviews here indicate. We enjoyed the hospitality, local knowledge and helpfulness of the hosts, with Mr Trogawa doubling as trek organiser, transport manager and driver. The quiet location away from the centre and down from the road was a big plus (tranquillity, superb views and starry nights). There was no need to find a restaurant as the home cooking was so good. The steps up and down from the main road and the walk into the centre weren't a problem for us but if you have a lot of baggage, are unfit or want to hit the town every night this might not be the ideal property.

.The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The stay was unforgettable, with breathtaking views that took our breath away. The food was absolutely delicious, reminiscent of comforting home-cooked meals

Familiar environment

We stayed for 3 nights at Hermit Retreat homestay and had a wonderful time! Padma and Tse Wang were such amazing hosts helping us out with activities, where to get the best momos in town, taxi arrangements and much more. The location was a bit away from Darjeeling but therefore felt like surrounded by nature and the walk to town was refreshing. The rooms were spacious and offered stunning views of the mountains. Overall highly recommended place to stay!

The property has a beautiful view over the Himalayas mountains. You can enjoy the most amazing
sunrise from your balcony. The owners are great and lovely host , they make me feel as part of the family! This is a great place to stay if you like trekking because the host has more than 30 yrs of experience leading trekking trips around the area. This is also a great place to enjoy the singing of the insects and the roosters in the morning.

Great Location. Surrounded by nature. The family that runs the house are very kind and they help you with everything you need, Every place to visit is very close but you have the extra to be on a very relaxing environment. I would recommend the experience 100%.

The location was absolutly fantastic! In the nature with a beautiful view and quiet. You could walk to Darjeeling downtown in about 30 minutes. The Hosts were super kind and helpful. If you want you can also order lunch or dinner. We definetly recommend this retreat!
