basic but authentique Mauritian experience for a couple of nights
Pros:

- I was given the room with its own bathroom and kitchen, which had enough amenities. Spacious and clean.
- Very close to le Morne mountain to hike, or la Prairie beach for swimming or taking the flight for the aerial views of the area
- I asked for a landmark before coming and found the house right away
- Kind hosts, very easy to communicate with

Vraiment dommage car bien placé pour ascension du morne

La gentillesse de madame rose

Cons:

Nous avons passé une nuit blanche à cause des des coqs et des poules qui ont fait du bruit toute la nuit sans aucun répit

Lovely hosts, nice location
Pros:

We had the room upstairs, with the bathroom and kitchen with fridge, cutlery and everything you need.
Lovely terrace with seaview.
Good WiFi quality, good shower. Parking in front of the property.
The hosts are super nice and kind!

Cons:

Super noisy during the night because of the many roosters downstairs, who started singing at 3 am...

Grand espace et très proche du morne pour la randonnée le lendemain matin très tôt

Cons:

Je n’ai dormi qu’une seule nuit et c’était déjà une nuit de trop.
Je n’ai pas réussi a fermé l’œil entre les aboiements des chiens, les cris du coq et les mouches de partout dans le logement.
La propreté des douches et toilettes est complètement a revoir.
Personnellement je déconseille fortement

Chilled out spot
Pros:

The lot action was good, opposite the sea, next to a bus stop which was a 10 minute ride to bug supermarket. Le morne was a walkable distance. It was nice to have a kitchen. Madam Rose was a character and did give me advice on buses to the airport

Cons:

Why can't anywhere in Mauritius have a simple sign so you know you are at the right place??!! We shouldn't have to knock on neighbours doors and nearby shops to see if they have heard of it! Just a little simple sign would do- it would cost nothing.
Despite the idyllic location, this is not a quiet place so you may need earplugs. Roosters, dogs and traffic which goes surprisingly fast on the quiet coast road all conspired to wake me up every morning-- my advice is take the room at the back and upstairs if possible.
It was great to have a kitchen but just a couple more pans and plug sockets would help I was constantly juggling kettle, microwave and toaster in the one socket. Normally I wouldn't mention such things but it's not that budget price.

Nice people, nice terrace, big room, local flair, nice warm shower.... recommended!

Cons:

All good...just the price is a bit too high compared to other more modern apartments I stayed in Mauritius.

Excellent!
Pros:

Lovely people, friendly and accommodating. Very clean and spacious basic accommodation. Definitely try the food from their kiosk on the road.

Cons:

Didn’t bother me too much but this is a home stay so you’re surrounded by real Mauritian life. Hence, expect to be up early with rooster calls! There are limited places to buy fruit and veg so bring your own.

Very good option for a stay close to Le Morne
Pros:

Very nice hosts - a little family-run place with charme.
Access to fully-eqipped kitchen. Very clean room; bed was comfortable.
I chose the upper room, which boasts of a sea view and has access to a terrace.

Cons:

Minor minus: Bathing facilities are shared and reminded me a bit of YH-style.
