Alex Home Stay

We loved our time in Alex’s home stay, the moment we arrived we were greeted with a welcome drink. Our room was beautiful with steps up to the balcony, and had a beautiful view! There was also a kitchen for us to cook our own dinner which was really nice. Location is close to a big supermarket and bus stop with regular buses and only 30 minute walk from Kandy city centre. Would recommend to anyone, The hosts were super kind and made our stay 💗

Dieses Homestay ist einfach perfekt!
Wir haben absichtlich eine Unterkunft gewählt, die etwas abseits vom Trubel liegt und wurden mehr als positiv überrascht. Ein TukTuk braucht man ohnehin, um sich fortzubewegen, und warum sollte man dann im Getümmel wohnen?
Von der Hauptstraße aus geht es ein paar Meter eine Anhöhe hoch. Das Haus ist so gebaut, dass alle Zimmer einen traumhaften Blick über den Norden Kandys und die nahegelegenen Berge bieten. Alle Zimmer haben einen Balkon mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht. Als wir ankamen, haben wir uns erst einmal nicht vom Fleck belegt, die Aussicht genossen und die vielen bunten Vögel angeschaut.
Die Betten sind wunderbar bequem und alles ist sehr sauber. Auch gibt es erfreulicherweise eine Duschabtrennung, so dass das Bad trocken bleibt wenn man duscht.
Wir wurden sehr herzlich mit einem Tee empfangen. Das Frühstück war richtig klasse, kein Einheitsbrei sondern vielseitig und abwechslungsreich. Wir haben in der Unterkunft auch zu Abend gegessen, auch das war köstlich!
Wer Lust hat, selber etwas zu kochen: auch dafür ist gesorgt. Die Zimmer befinden sich mit eigenem Zugang in der oberen Etage, und dort gibt es diesen Kochbereich, den alle nutzen können.
Die Familie ist sehr hilfsbereit, wir haben uns so richtig wohl gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall noch einmal wieder!

Super emplacement, calme avec une vue magnifique sur la montagne.
L apartement très propre, super bien équipé, fonctionnel.
Mais le plus important c est la gentillesse, la convivialité des hôtes, leur service. Nous recommandons vivement cet établissement.

Bella struttura, pulita, con piccola terrazzina in stanza, che però noi purtroppo non abbiamo potuto utilizzare causa pioggia (o meglio, diluvio universale!). Personale molto accogliente, ottima cena e colazione. Difficoltà a miscelare l’acqua calda con quella fredda, perché provenivano da due soffioni differenti…. ma fattibile.
Strada per arrivare un po’ impervia, gradini per salire alla guesthouse, ma il personale aiuta con le valigie; posizione però buona perchè fuori dal caos di Kandy

Lovely people and an amazing view

Famille extrêmement gentille, qui nous a véhiculés sur la dernière portion de route très pentue, et a organisé le portage de bagages pour les 2 étages jusqu'à nos chambres. Une attention que nous avons grandement appréciée !
Excellent petit déjeuner, très varié 😍
La location sur les hauteurs de Kandy permet de s'extraire de l'effervescence bruyante de la ville.
Bref, un séjour très chouette !

Het waren gastvrije eigenaren die ons erg leuk ontvingen. Bonus was zeker het balkon met mooi uitzicht over de stad. Ook is de kamer verder heel schoon en het bed ligt heerlijk.

La signora è stata molto gentile e carina. La struttura è pulita e ordinata. La colazione molto buona.
La signora parla un ottimo inglese, molto comprensibile.
Alcune cose pratiche molto utili: ogni stanza è dotata di adattatore (non scontato in sri Lanka), è possibile usufruire del servizio lavanderia, la colazione è sia singalese che continentale, per il pagamento non accettano carte di credito ma accettano sia dollari che euro
Infine c'è anche un asciugacapelli a disposizione

Exceptional home stay. Alex and Malka are very welcoming hosts who made us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious too!

It was out of the busy centre of Kandy making it more peaceful. Beautiful view from the room, clean, comfy bed, there was a small kitchen available and fridge to store food and drinks. The hosts were super helpful in organizing tuk tuks and they even picked me up from the train station when I arrived!

Our stay here was incredible, Alex and Malka went above and beyond - picking us up from the train and accommodating a delay, stopping at the local supermarket, making a beautiful local breakfast, and helping us with much needed laundry. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Amazing! We couldn’t ask for better welcome in Kandy! The place is quiet and homey, Alex and Malka were very welcoming and gave us some very good tips for organising our trip. Breakfast was delicious and the room Super comfortable.

The location was perfect quiet but not too far from the center. The view was really nice.

If you’re looking for a truly clean accommodation with a beautiful view, this is the perfect place!
Malka was incredibly warm and immediately made us feel welcome. She provided us with information, helped us organize a ride to the train station in the morning, and was always available.
There is a fridge, the view is beautiful, and there’s a huge supermarket within walking distance. You can reach the town center in just a few minutes.
We can highly recommend this accommodation!

A beautiful home. Although a little way out of the centre of town, this place is nestled in a lovely little neighbourhood with breathtaking views from the balcony. I felt very well looked after during my stay, particularly at the delicious breakfast (a selection of sweets and juices, jackfruit curry, fried eggs, and more!). Everything was perfect. It’s just a short walk to the main high street, where you can catch a bus up to Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa.
