Vista House Kandy

Vista House in Kandy was an exceptional stay. The cleanliness was superb, and the facilities were far more than I expected. The attention to detail truly made for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Wir haben uns im Vista House wirklich wohl gefühlt. Die Hosts waren sehr zuvorkommend und höflich, haben uns auch ein paar Ausflugstipps gegeben. Klassisches Sri Lankanisches Frühstück konnten wir für 700 Rs pro Person dazu buchen und dies war definitiv sättigend. Unser Zimmer war ausgestattet mit zwei Ventilatoren, die die Nacht sehr angenehm machten (bei den Temperaturen die wir hatten wäre es aber auch ohne gegangen). Die Bettwäsche und Handtücher wirkten grundsätzlich sauber, hatten allerdings ein paar Flecken, bei denen es natürlich auch sein kann, das sie selbst durch das Waschen nicht rausgehen.

Die Lage war ruhig, allerdings sind TukTuks vom Stadtzentrum zu diesem Ort wegen des Berges etwas teurer (ca. 800-1.200 Rs).

Wenn man möchte kann man jederzeit die Dachterasse nutzen, was wir ziemlich schön fanden! ✨☺️

Der Ausblick und die Umgebung waren wahnsinnig schön, richtig schön im Grünen und sehr ruhige, angenehme Lage.

The host was really kind. The area was among the best areas in Sri Lanka. From the rooftop of the property we could have a 360 view of Kandy and the nearby hills

Lovely kind host with a personally made breakfast. The rooms are large and clean with good beds. This is extremely good value.

The property is not in the centre but has good views and helps to have a driver to get you there. Remember also to pay in cash.

Maybe best value for money anywhere and a great stay.

Staying at Vista House Kandy was one of the highlights of our trip — it felt less like accommodation and more like being welcomed into a warm, loving home. From the moment we arrived, Waruni made us feel like family. Her genuine hospitality is a true reflection of the kindness and warmth Sri Lanka is known for.

The property itself is a beautiful house nestled amidst the misty hills, with a peaceful running stream nearby that added to the serene, nature-filled atmosphere. Our room was spotlessly clean and had an elegant antique charm that made it unique and cozy. Waking up to the breathtaking views of Kandy town and the surrounding mountains was simply unforgettable.

Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of — the room was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was both nutritious and delicious. Waruni even made sure to accommodate our personal preferences, which we appreciated deeply.

We also enjoyed relaxing in the common area and using the kitchen when we needed. The balcony with its comfortable seating became our favourite spot — sipping a hot drink while watching the mist roll in was magical. The beds were very comfortable, and the Wi-Fi connection was strong throughout our stay.

Although the house is about a 10-minute drive from Kandy town, we found it well worth it for the peace and beauty of the surroundings. Having your own vehicle is convenient, but ride services like Uber and PickMe are also easily available.

Overall, Vista House has truly become our favourite place to stay in Kandy, and we are already looking forward to returning on our next holiday. If you’re seeking a tranquil, homely experience with authentic Sri Lankan hospitality, look no further. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property, really well looked after and has everything you could possibly need. All the little details are really well thought out like having extension plugs in the rooms to charge multiple items etc. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms very spacious, we really felt comfortable and at home here. Waruni is a fantastic host and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possibly need, she also arranged dinner for us one evening at the last minute when we were tired from being out all day which was a fantastic help. The breakfast is incredible, beautifully fresh and delicious food.

The entire structure of the room very creative and well designed..stuff is nice and willing to help if needed.worth for the money.the host is very friendly and humble lady.breakfast is yummy.I highly recommended this place to stay.

We absolutely loved staying with waruni and her family. They looked after us perfectly and recommended raja the kindest most helpful tuk tuk driver. The breakfast was utterly delicious and we were very sad to leave.

The place was in a good location with free parking for the car. The owner of the place was welcoming, the room was clean with free standing air conditioning and adequate supply of toiletries. The whole place was clean with ample of room. Breakfast provided was good.. Waruni, the owner prepared a vegetarian breakfast which was filling and tasty.
