I booked this gorgeous Temple Retreat accommodation without realising what was even there. I was beyond thrilled when I found out that the owner offered sound healing in the cave!! As well as hypnotherapy and healing therapies.
I was privileged to spend time with Karin talking and taking steps on my own healing journey.
The accommodation itself is down a grassy side road, but with Karen's detailed instructions and photos sent before, it was easy to find. The property is a gorgeous old building with many features which are hundreds of years old, it was quite a delight!
I stayed in the Rose Room, with a comfy double bed, spacious bathroom and facilities for making tea as well as a fridge. .
I felt very safe, calm and grounded on the beautiful island of Gozo and particularly in my accommodation. As a solo female traveller, this is sometimes not the case, but here I felt quite happy strolling around in the evening and slept peacefully every night.
The only other souls I encountered were the gorgeous cats and dogs.
I feel blessed to have met Karin and am sure our paths will cross again in the near future.
Nothing.
I chose this place because it was advertised as a women focused retreat centered on wellbeing, self care, and therapeutic experiences.
I want to start by being fair. The single room I stayed in was comfortable and exactly as described. In addition, when I contacted the owner in advance to book a sound healing session, she was responsive and recommended another female practitioner. This practitioner came to the property, conducted a beautiful and professional sound healing session in the cave, and then left. It was a positive experience.
This stay felt unsafe from the very beginning. I arrived at the scheduled check in time and there was no one on site. I had to contact the owner by phone to understand how to proceed. The property was very quiet and mostly dark, which immediately created a strong sense of insecurity as a woman traveling alone.
The listing also advertises a yoga and meditation space. Based on this, I purchased a yoga mat specifically for my stay. However, upon arrival, the area was completely overgrown with plants and inaccessible. Although it physically exists, it was not functional or available as advertised, which was misleading and disappointing.
A male staff member came to the property in the mornings to prepare rooms and wash bed linens and towels. He was not staying on site, but whenever he was present, his behavior repeatedly crossed personal boundaries. On several occasions, he stayed very close to me during breakfast, stared at me, and persistently insisted on showing me the cave, even after I clearly said I had already been there.
On the morning of my check out, the situation escalated. He again pressured me to go to the cave and to the owner’s house area to see photos on the walls. Against my intuition, I went, trying to believe he was just being friendly. Inside the cave, he moved closer and touched me. I immediately stepped back and clearly told him not to touch me and that I was scared. He tried to downplay it, saying he only wanted to take a photo together, despite me being very clear that I did not want any physical proximity.
Later, while I was packing my bags, he entered my room without permission while I was outside finishing breakfast. When I was ready to leave, he repeatedly insisted on giving me a ride. At that point, he attempted to kiss me against my will. I pushed him away and ran out of the property to get a taxi and leave.
An incredibly wonderful and warm atmosphere
Stunning location, beautiful and tranquil. Host is great, and we had a wonderful time.
The perfect place to relax, recharge, and rest, away from our busy lives. Location is great, secluded, quiet, and will miss the mornings at the terrace drinking tea while listening to bird songs. The room was comfortable, clean, the fridge provided was a bonus considering the hot weather, loved the choices of herbal teas Karin provided, and had a great company from 3 loveable cats 🐈 😻 greeting me every morning on the terrace ❤️ Will definitely look for availability next time I will go to Gozo for a break 😀
Very cute and charming room.
The pool area could need a bit more attention (new chairs, umbrellas).
The location was peaceful and quiet, with lots on nearby. The host had such good recommendations that we are keen to return again soon.
Location is good. Restaurants nearby. The room is beautiful. The place is cute. Accessible by public transport. The stairs for the bathroom could be dangerous for others due to the amount of space around it.
No one was there during check in. Then my room wasn’t cleaned. Then on check out day, the house cleaner telling me to check out at 10am, when the check out time is at 11am. Bed is uncomfortable. There’s a padding that keeps sliding out of bed. I slipped out a few times.
Location and view are great and how rare is it to sleep in a building of more than 750 years old!!!! Also the pool is a big bonus for chosing this L’Gharix Temple Retreat for a stay. A one of a kind place that I hope will be preserved against further building activities nearby /around.
The bed is quite soft and for tall people the bed end is less convenient. The bathroom could use an upgrade and could be cleaner.
Memorable experience in a small village at the one of the oldest temples in the world “Ggantia temples “ with stylish architecture, kind people and natural beauty such as Ramla beach to which I enjoyed hiking. The accommodation in the 800 old house put me back to the deep past with its lovely interior and architectural elements.

It’s very peaceful and relaxing place, nice swimming pool and it’s very clean and comfortable.
If they do some lights in the ally that Leeds to the farmhouse it will be perfect.
Nice pool, good location and room
The air conditioner was broken so it was hot in the room. If the day is very hot, then you can get cold water only in the evening. Small freezer and it sometimes switch off
There's nothing I don't like about this place.
I think the a/c needs a service because it wasn't cooling well and we couldn't sleep properly.
Our hosts were great and gave us some excellent recommendations for our trip. The room was beautiful with a great historic feel. There were flowers everywhere on the grounds and around the pool. The house was also near a wonderful square with a beautiful church and good restaurants.
Parking is on the street, it is easy and safe but there is about a 100m walk to the house.
