A comfy clean homely BnB.
Pros:

Excellent breakfast made from local produce home made by proprietress Nancy. Very clean rooms of decent size. Rode a bicycle and could park in their car porch.

Cons:

Large towel not provided. Power plugs not next to bed or counter where water boiler was placed. Limited dining options nearby and they close early.

Best BnB I've stayed at in Taiwan, and I've stayed at many
Pros:

Everything.
Decor was modern, sparse, semi-industrial. Far nicer than the tacky, gaudy decorations in most Taiwanese BnBs.

Female host was very nice and is able to communicate in English.

Room had good insulation (a rarity in Taiwan) and stayed warm on a fairly cool night. The bed was not too firm and not too soft. The bed had ergonomic pillows (not memory foam, but still better than the huge, hard pillows most BnBs in Taiwan use).

Breakfast was amazing and artfully prepared. Local coffee, too!

Both hosts take their jobs seriously, have a great aesthetic sense, and you can tell that they value providing a quality experience more than just making money.

I don't know if I'll ever be by that way again, but if I am, I'll be staying here.

Cons:

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I only stayed one night and didn't get a chance to check out her friend's coffee store up on the mountain.

Pros:

I loved a perfect combination of modernity with attachment to the tradition. The couple who run the place are nice people who took their time to make me feel comfortable. The place seems to have good vibes and the views are spectacular. It's well connected with Zhiben (and with the nearby natural park) in case you should rely on public transport. Last but not least, I was treated to most delicious breakfast prepared by the owner.
