本次是訂購有浴缸的房間,但是每間房間有電熱水器、水量大概放到浴缸一半就沒熱水了,完全沒辦法泡澡😭
Good location, Friendly staff. Everything is perfect. Good value.
Nothing
Bed was very confortable
/
Friendly staff.
Clean.
Tiny room and bathroom. Difficult to move around especially for two people.
I didn't like that they had a native bird in a tiny cage in the lobby, It always looked distressed. Very sad and off putting.
Location is perfect, it wasn’t loud, price was ok for NYE weekend
The room was too small for 4 people. This was obviously a 2 people room where they decided to cram 2 beds, that end up directly on the floor. The people at the reception were not friendly at all. Breakfast was not good and very light. Overall I wouldn’t recommend it.
Location was ok.
Very small room. Over priced.

Good location
Spatious room (basement room)
Good breakfast
Good value for money for the basement room

We had to spend a decent amount of time "hunting" mosquitoes before sleeping, which also led us to find out that the room could be better cleaned
Good location opposite Zhongxing Parking Lot on the second street back from Shuishe Pier Area. Narrow and tall hotel, small rooms, comfortable bed, thin towels with the odd hole in them, large TV, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, dark bathroom, hot water 24 hrs, free WiFi. No safe, room was cold (could not use the air conditioner/heater remote - written language issue)
Signs everywhere about rules - toilet paper, breakfast times, reception times, checkin and out, must scrap your breakfast dishes and place here etc. Some signs had English translation some didn’t. Very orderly and organized place. The staff and reception were very friendly and helpful.
A bicycle hire place is literally next door. A few restaurants open in Mingsheng Street (the hotel goes through to that street) but most of the restaurants seem to close 8pm and were very Chinese tourist focused. Not many tables available. A few westerner menu restaurants on Mingsheng Street but they were vacant with no customers whilst the other restaurants had queues.
Hints: If you park in the parking lot you receive a colored token. Enter through the far right barrier gate (the left side is for buses) - the red sign and arrow. Before getting the car out (after parking) give token to reception at your hotel - your hotel give you a ticket (180 TWD), pay the hotel, then take token to small manned station area at front of parking lot, they put token on a machine and hand it back to you. It must be a flat rate for hotel guests, subsidized etc. The parking lot is for the general public and it gets full very quickly but is very large. Don’t be alarmed if you can’t get in and a long queue forms, it clears quickly, as cars come and go all day long. We waited about 20mins one day, and no time the other days. Weekends is busy.
Another hint: The good thing about the car hire is you can explore the surrounding townships because SML is overrun by Chinese tourists and it was a nightmare especially on the weekend. Driving in Taiwan was easy, signs in English and used google maps on IPad and phone (get sim/data card from Chunghwa Telecom in Taipei or Chiaya City)
The townships around and the small countryside roads were amazing. We ended up in Lugu Township one day exploring and lunch at a Taiwanese Kiln Roasted Chicken Restaurant (No. 267-1, Section 3, Zhongzheng Road, Lugu Township, opens 11am), and the next day Puli Township (Dumplings at Wu Hua Ma Dumpling House opposite Nissan, corner of Section 3, Zhongshan Road, Puli Township). And also Feeling 18 for chocolate, cake and coffee. We did the same staying In Fenchihu and Alishan areas.
Sun Moon Lake can be expensive. We opted for this hotel based on the rate as we only needed a place to sleep. That's pretty much what we got. On the good side, the folks working there were friendly, everything in the room worked and it was reasonably clean. The room was small. We had one small window that looked out on a cement wall about a foot away. The shower was a hand held that wasn't separated from the rest of the bathroom. The only place to sit in the room was on the bed. It wasn't bad, it just isn't something that you'll write home about.
There is little noise cancellation for the room. Can hear everything from the streets even the street buskers from the pier nearby. The bathroom is tiny and not well equipped, no wardrobe only some hangers. Pics shown on hotel website are far from reality. If you stay, bring your own shower gel etc, it's not provided. They have a signboard outside advertising a rate that's about 2/3 of what I paid and it was lit for the days I stayed so felt a bit cheated.
Stayed there for 2 nights in Big basement room . Room is clean . Bathroom is spacious . Wonderful western style breakfast . All the staffs is friendly & helpful . They have machines for laundry near lobby . They also sell tickets that come together with Boat + Cable car + Farmosa theme park admission . Very near restaurants & shops . Near lake for the boat ride that take you to Ithashao . Tourist information centre is 5 min. walk from hotel . You can buy ticket for bus at the tourist information centre . Will stay here again if coming back to Sun Moon Lake .
The very friendly and helpful staff helped me out to change my hotel last minyte after having experienced some trouble with my previous one. The hotel consists of two parts. I can strongly recommend the "Building B" - with very modern, beautifully designed and clean and comfortable rooms!
Bathroom is very poorly designed-- the toilet is very close to the shower. There's nothing in between to separate toilet and shower. No place to put or hang clothes during shower. You can see it yourself from the photos. The room is tiny for the price we pay. No privacy. Refrigerator has water leaking. What you see from the photo is where you hang clothes.
We spent a night in the Tanhui Modern Hotel, wanting to experience Taiwan away from the city for a couple of days. We went over the Chinese New Year thinking it would be a less popular time given the event is traditionally family oriented. Well, someone forgot to tell the Chinese. The lake area was very busy.
We picked the Tanhui Modern Hotel due to availability and because it was located right on the lake. Of three weeks I spent touring Asia, it was by far the most expensive night I had in a hotel. I paid $10,000 TWD (roughly $130 US) for the night. Breakfast and the internet (which was fast) was included.
The hotel was clean. The rooms basic. The beds were fine (not great). It was functional. I have no problems with the room other than the cost. Based on comparisons, I would have expected the cost to be somewhere in the $150 US/night range. The teddy bear thing (one left on every bed) was a bit strange. We wondered how often they are washed.
The hotel is well located, albeit a bit difficult to find (not good signs.) We had a view of the lake. And it is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and places to rent scooters and bikes. No complaints there.
It's not luxury accommodations, but for the right price, it should fit the bill.
A value of money hotel if you plan to visit Sun Moon Lake. The Staff are very friendly and the breakfast is decent for the day. If you are traveling alone, there is a teddy bear who will be spending the night with you to keep you accompany.
Overall experience: Great
The room I have is very strange, very rectangular and it is a fire escape exit. In other word, if there is fire, people will have to open my room door, get through the window to get down.
The staffs were nice and tried to help but spoke little English. The breakfast is good with ham, sausage, egg, coffee, milk, bread, coffee, and juice. It is located right next to the pier and next to a short trail.
Shuishe Village is small so you can walk around for 10 minutes and cover the whole village.
