I had a wonderful stay at a charming hotel in Nangan. The hotel perfectly captured the local culture, making me feel immersed in the island's way of life. The staff was incredibly kind and shared many details about the area with us. My room was cozy if not a little traditional, providing a comfortable location after a day spent on a scooter.
While the hotel was a delightful experience overall, I did find that it is true what they say, the soundproofing is lacking. As a light sleeper, I could hear just about everything that happened in the neighboring room. However, once they went to sleep we had no problems.
Location was very close to busy area, but too close... I really can't say I liked anything of it.
The sound proof was HORRIBLE. It was like living in a sturdier tent, with only such thin fabrics between rooms. You can hear whoever was talking, walking down the stairs, or entering the property. Also, since it was located right next to a tourist spot and eatery, every morning there were tourists walking around taking pictures etc. (8 or 9am very busy already) which was VERY DISTURBING for us, couldn't sleep well.
Lastly, all four rooms shared one bathroom/toilet.
Nice place in a cute little village on Matsu Nangan Island. You can easily get a taxi to visit the island.
Should have stayed there longer. Elsewhere in the village, one of the restaurants owner doesn't understand the calm of this place and keeps playing loud music even when his restaurant is empty (it is empty precisely because the music is loud). But you can'tb hear it from the B&B.
