Pros:

Ruhige Lage mit Blick auf die Berge. Sehr sauber und gemütlich. Leckeres Frühstück vom Sohn täglich frisch zubereitet. Das Highlight ist die ganze Familie. So herzlich sind wir noch nie empfangen worden. Abschied fiel schwer.

今天停電,早餐時,房主手沖咖啡給我們品嚐,以及手工吐司及自製的果醬,蛋餅等等,很好吃,並且熱情的陪我們聊天.屋子整潔乾淨,並且前一晚抵達時也熱情迎接,晚上也有講述太魯閣的歷史故事及用特殊的種子帶我們做手鍊,感覺很温暖.

洗澡水壓很大,很舒服.

Schönes, gastfreundliches Haus in einem großen Garten.
Pros:

Das Gästehaus liegt in einem großen Gartenbereich in Xiulin, einem Ort, in dem historisch vorwiegend Menschen der Volksgruppe der Taroko angesiedelt sind. Auf dem Grundstück befinden sich zwei weitere Häuser, in denen der Gastgeber bzw. der Sohn wohnen. Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Verschiedene Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich an der Durchgangsstraße Nr. 9, etwa 1,5 km entfernt. Wir hatten das 4-Bett-Zimmer in Parterre mit schönem Ausblick und Terrasse gebucht. Im Frühstücksraum (mit Küche) befindet sich ein riesiger Tisch. Wenn mehrere Gästgruppen da sind, ergibt sich hier sicherlich eine schöne Frühstücksgemeinschaft. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Die Gastgeber (Boyan und Lisa) sprechen Englisch, sind ganz außergewöhnlich freundlich, kommunikativ und hilfsbereit. Zusätzlich beschreiben sie gerne historische und gesellschaftliche Hintergründe zu ihrem Ort und wir haben viel dabei gelernt. Boyan zeigte uns den alten Taroko-Teil von Xiulin und Lisa fertigte mit uns ein Armband aus Früchtekernen an. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl aufgenommen gefühlt.

Cons:

In der Karte bei booking.com ist das Haus fälschlich neben der Polizeidienststelle eingetragen. Die Unterkunft liegt jedoch direkt an der Bahnlinie, etwa 1 km weiter östlich. Selbst mit Navi hatten wir Probleme, die Unterkunft zu finden. Die Gastgeber kennen das Problem und haben es angeblich booking.com schon vergeblich mitgeteilt.
Die Bahnlinie ist relativ geräuscharm, weil die Gleise an dieser Stelle geräuscharm ausgelegt sind und zudem nachts kaum Züge fahren.
Gegen die kleinen Stechmücken in dieser Gegend sollte man sich mit Insektenschutzmittel schützen.

Boya en Lisa waren fantastisch! Het verblijf ligt op een prachtige plek, is leuk ingericht van binnen en erg ruim. De service was heel persoonlijk, met veel verhalen over de Taroko cultuur. Boya en Lisa bedankt!

The Best Homestay in Taiwan everyone should try
Pros:

The host Lisa and Boya are the warmest hosts people I had met in this 21 days around Taiwan trip. They picked us up from the train station and provided the basic in and out from the property for us. They shared their love story and sing to us, share their culture and their life to us. They made the best breakfast and the best coffee. They are the best Air B&B host. I will recommend this Home stay for everyone.

Cons:

I don't have anything I didn't like. The location is not very close to the public bus round. But the host provided us the pick up and sent out which is more better than anything the inconvenient of the location.

Un délicieux séjour au calme. On a envie d'y rester encore et encore. La découverte du village et des histoires des ancêtres grâce au propriétaire du lieu est fascinante!
Un moment touchant autour d'une activité bracelet qui restera gravé dans nos souvenirs.
De l'aide pour les transports, étant piétons et sans possibilité de louer un scooter.

Amazing coffee!
Also - even though the Taroko Gorge is mostly closed, it is still very much worth it to visit! The visitors centre + Dekalun trail are opened and beautiful, and the nearby town is small but lovely.

Taroko Homestay: The best homestay in the world
Pros:

Lisa and Boya are one of a kind hosts. Truly some of the nicest people I have ever met and very generous. Boya showed us around the local village, highlighting the Taroko culture and how it has changed and evolved up to the present day. Lisa was the best hostess and managed everything for us making our stay truly fantastic.
