Richard (the owner) recieved us at the port when we arrived and helped us accomodate. He had prepared many activities, which was great as we didn't need to organize them ourselves. He took us for a night walk in the jungle and showed us wild animals, we went to the indigenous communities and fished piranhas. The best part however was the night boat ride where we saw (and touched!) the alligators.
The room was cozy and there were hammocks in the common area to rest after a long day. We loved Richard's cat Kitty (patitas suaves) too.
I recommend this place 100%! The house is perfectly located and is very nice, and the host is amazing, he can also be your guide :)
It was a bit chilly at night
It’s a nice wooden house, just as rustic as we imagined a house in the jungle. A host Mauricio was incredibly responsive. He organised us a three days program on the fly with an english guide which was awesome.
The place is a few hundred meters from the busiest and noisy part of the town, which we appreciated. So it’s a bonus.
I loved the location, it is in a neighborhood. It isn't easy to find but I appreciated that someone met me at the place of disembarkation to take me to the place. The house is very cute and comfortable. There is only cold water for the shower, but that is expected and normal in Amazonas. I loved having a fan in the room that worked really well, and enjoyed the hammock in the living room quite a lot. There is also a cat that lives there that is VERY friendly, and I loved her. Thank you for the stay! :)
The neighbors were a little loud and had music playing very late, but it was okay after I put in earplugs. If someone is allergic to cats they should not stay here.
We absolutely loved our stay! Richard and his brother are the perfect hosts, and their hostel is a lovely oasis in the paradise that is Puerto Narino. We were made to feel completely at home, and Richard did some tours with us based on what we would love to do. We visited Cocao Island, fished piranhas and went looking for caymans in the dusk of night. Richard knows the island and all there is to do and find really well, so you're in the best of hands :-) He even invited it us on our last day to watch the Belgium World Cup match at his place so we didn't have to go looking around town on a Sunday morning. The hostel itself is super cosy, clean, comfy beds, amazing (cold - but you'll want it ;-)) shower and right in the middle of the beautiful nature the island has to offer. The only thing I could remark is that I think they should ask more money for this amazing room ;-) Don't hesitate - book your stay here!
Everything was perfect!
