Perfect stay, great view.. felt like home
Pros:

I had the pleasure of staying at west point backpacks hostel for 10 days, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, the owner made me feel like part of the family—warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. It genuinely felt like home throughout my stay.

The place was spotlessly clean and hygienic, which made it even more comfortable. One of the little things that made a big difference was the unlimited tea available in the room—such a thoughtful and relaxing touch.

The view from the property was absolutely beautiful, offering a peaceful and refreshing backdrop every day. I couldn’t have asked for a better environment to unwind and recharge.

Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would absolutely love to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a homely, serene, and well-cared-for place to stay.

This hostel is perfect for travelers looking to connect with others, away from the chaos of the city center. The host is incredibly thoughtful, and on a clear day, you can even see Kanchenjunga from the hostel. I’d highly recommend it just for the vibes.

Excellent value for money!
Pros:

A neat and clean Hostel about 2 km from the centre of Darjeeling, easy to get to with a shared taxi (in front of the house). Lovely staff, very welcoming and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Cons:

It can get very loud, it‘s directly on the street. So cars start honking a 5 am in the morning.

Pros:

Our stay at Rebecca's hostel was perfect! We stayed there for about a week, as the location was great. It's located a bit away from the city centre, but the shared jeeps goes right outside the door, and works like local buses. The tea and boiler in the room was such a nice detail, that helped a lot in the cold march mornings. Thank you so much for the hospitality and warmth! We will remember our stay at Rebecca's in Darjeeling 😊🙏

Lovely clean home with most helpful staff in chilly Darjeeling
Pros:

The room was large, comfortable, and clean, and the electric mattress heater, on the very comfortable and cosy big bed, was a lifesaver in the cold weather. I am sure the view is great when the weather is clearer, but the location was still very good - it is easy to get anywhere in Darjeeling and it was fun to see and hear the Toy Trains going past.
The staff are so lovely and helpful and go above and beyond, with all recommendations and information, and amazing Darjeeling tea and handmade chocolates provided! Thanks for having me!

Cons:

Not negative per se and not specific to the accom but something to keep in mind: Darjeeling can get quite cold! The room has no heating so gets quite chilly in very cold weather like I had during my stay, please consider that if you are affected by the cold! As I said above, the electric mattress heater kept me warm, though sometimes Darjeeling has electricity problems and you may be left without :) When this happened to me, the lovely staff provided some boiling water from the gas stove upstairs so I could still make myself some tea to warm up.

Perfect stay.
Pros:

Highly recommend. The rooms are lovely, with beautiful views of the mountains in the distance. We spent our time enjoying the view while enjoying the complimentary Darjeeling tea and homemade chocolates on the balcony! The service is incredible, with the hostel owner and manager going out of their way to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Both are very knowledgeable about the area, with loads of recommendations. Thank you again, Becky and Subu, for your care and thoughtfulness that made our stay so special.

Exceptional Hospitality and warmth in a cold city
Pros:

I had high expectations going in, having read the reviews at Booking.com and having chosen this place because of its high reviews. But my actual expectation ended up exceeding those expectations.

We ended up having a medical emergency (unrelated to our travel to this venue) and needed to change our plans last minute, hoping to salvage the trip. Rebecca and Shubhanjali (the manager) were incredibly understanding, accommodating and helpful, and helped us make the most of the trip, even when the requests bordered on unreasonable.

Look, on a trip like this, it matters a lot where you stay, and the kind of equation you have with the host. And for us, that was the key difference.

The place is nice, warm, and inviting, and ended up being just what we needed. The view is unbelievable, and on clear days you can see the vast expanse of the Kunchenjunga range towering over the city on the hills.

You get drinking water from the tap, which is always a bonus. The water is from a mountain spring and can be really great for your skin and palate. We had darjeeling tea in our room with a kettle, to sit and unwind with after a tiring day of exploring the alleyways of this mystical city.

Cons:

I can't think of anything. This is probably nitpicking but the walls could be a bit thicker I suppose. We think we accidentally woke up our neighbour a couple of times.

The warmest hospitality in cooler climates
Pros:

West point backpackers has been my favorite place to stay so far on our trip. When we first arrived in December, the power was out across the town, so we were a little worried about heating as it was pretty cold. We were assured it would all be fine and it was. By the evening the power was back and our bed was so warm and cosy heated by the electric blanket. The family offered to buy a heater too, if we needed it, for a small daily fee, we chose not to in the end, but we're happy the option was there. The views from our balcony are incredible. Our hosts left delicious homemade chocolates for us, Darjeeling tea and bought us a little present of homemade crisps half way through our stay. Sharon, Shubanjali and family were the perfect hosts and really understand the meaning of hospitality. Rebecca, was not there, but was easy to contact and gave us lots of useful local info. We enjoyed so much our delicious breakfasts with them and conversations. The family will go out of there way to make sure your comfortable and we even hitched a lift to silguri at the end of our stay with them. We enjoyed exploring around the town, going on treks, which we could reach the start easily by foot. The property is set next to the road, but we worked around that and found the nature close by when we wanted. I personally love the vibe of Darjeeling and the influence from Nepalese and Tibetan culture. Happy Christmas everyone!

Excellent stay with nice view and supportive staff.
Pros:

The view of Mt Kanchenjunga from the balcony was something that we didn't expect to see. The owner as well as the manager were very sweet and kind to us. Rebecca, the owner, gave us yummy momos to eat as dinner as a sweet gesture during our last night. She was constantly in touch with us through her manager asking us pur well-being and our day. I would love to visit again in future. The place is clean and cozy. You may ask for extra blanket (only during extreme cold months). And the hand-made chocolates provided by her in our room was cherry on the top.

Cons:

There's nothing to dislike.
